you will get bigger hp numbers out of a turbo, but SC is easier on your motor

I wouldn't just slap a turbo onto your car and say lets race! M20's escpecially if its and "e" have high compresion 10.2:1, if your over 7psi on stock internals your going to have issues! I would do a fresh start, do it right. i, head, e block and bore it over .25000 put a set of JE pistons and do a rebulid and get a coppercan 3mm head gasket lower your compresion to around 8.75:1 get a T3 turbo run under 1bar of boost and you have your sell a boosted stroker M20 2.7l motor that will kick that VW's ass, unless its like 400WHP.

if you have any other quesitons let me know man

thanks this kid tells me my car weighs 4000 pound and that his weighs 1200. he also says his beetle turns out 230 hp, so i know he is blowing alot more than smoke at this point, but i still want to kik his ass. i have heard of finding something like and isuzu pup turbo and fabricating my own exhaust maifolds. i wasnt aware of the compression problem. what do people usually do if they are only going to have an E head and block?

How did you figure this? 8 psi is 8 psi no matter how it is reached. The motor can't tell the difference. Sure the s/c is only seeing full boost as it approches redline. But with a turbo you can lower the boost via the boost controller and only use max boost for certain events. That way it is extremely easier on the motor. Also the belt for the s/c is not the most friendly thing in the engine bay. It puts force on the crankshaft pulley and the engine has to deal with more parasitic drag. I am a big fan of s/c, infact my car is s/c. Just don't say a s/c is easier on you car than a turbo without backing it up. Now I am sure there ia also a list stating why a s/c is better and I don't doubt this. Just giving my 2 centavos.

What car do you think started import racing, the bug my friend. There are plenty of 300 hp vw air cooled turbo motors aout there. What do you think they run in sand rails. Now he might not have one of these motors but it is possible.

what if i repowered my 325e? put some rice under the hood. would that solve the lower performance problems? i want it to be something like the e30 that is for sale in the forced induction section right now. would that take a million bucks or is it possible?

if you want real power swap in an s50 or s52, but that's pricey. So, instead buy a 325i and turbo that.
