Hi all,

I'm brand new to this forum. I have a '94 325ic with light grey interior in sad shape. I'd like to replace the leather on both the front seats. I may do the rear as well if it is affordable. I would like to get good leather but am too afraid of getting sight-unseen junk. OEM prices are insane, and the only seemingly reputable company out there is GAHH. I have replaced leather interiors before (specifically in alfas) and am used to paying just under 250 Euros per seat for full leather seat covers, identical or better than the OEM covers. GAHH wants $2500 for front+rear seats, and this does not include material to cover the back panels of the seats. Is there anything out there that's more reasonable? Does anybody know of any companies abroad that sell quality leather seat covers for this incredibly common car?

My door panels suffer from the material shrinkage that seems to affect other 325's, causing the material to separate from the backing. I can live with it for now, but any advice on sourcing those (other than the ~$300 per panel OEM price) would be appreciated.

thanks,

Karl

why don't you just repair like everyone else?

Unfortunately, my driver's seat is badly worn through the leather by the left bolster on the driver's seat (foam is showing now) and badly worn through where the seat belt rubs above the driver's left shoulder. The seat bottom looks like alligator skin.
I have a couple of gallons of leatherique pristine clean and rejuvenating oil, and have been through the re-dying process. There's nothing quite like new leather. If I have to spend the $1250 and just do the front seats, I will.
What's amazing, is that at 185K miles, the car drives perfectly and doesn't have a hint of rust. The paint is immacculate (the paint seems to be far more resistant to rock chips than any other car I've driven). I replaced the clutch last year, which was the only part that was showing its age. The new clutch went in with no problems, took me about 8 hours to do, and I've had no problems since. Amazing car.

Thanks for the response!

Karl
