I am considering purchasing an E34 Touring and finding an S38 to put into it along with a 5 speed... how crazy is this.. will the whole swap be straightforward?

Any reason I need to use a 530it? Can I use a 525it?

There actually was an E34 M5 touring. Rob at UUC has one. One of the board members in Arizona has a very nice one with a 3.8L, if I recall correctly. I don't know how many BMW made, but I don't imagine it was too many. As far as swaps go, I imagine this one wouldn't be too bad, since BMW actually made the car. It would still be very expensive, though.

There is a black on black M5 touring for sale now in Dallas. Search on here, he's posted it not long ago. I would be willing to bet you could buy his cheaper than you could do a transplant.

Yes, I am aware that BMW made an M5 Touring..I can't seem to find the one in Dallas... will keep looking...
