View Full Version : Tuner shops to visit in the Dallas area
The Beastmaster 09-14-2005, 07:13 PM My mechanic is heading to Dallas for a IAIBMW meeting from 9/27 to 10/2. He was looking at places to visit on 10/3 before he leaves to come back to Hawaii.
Is it worth it to visit BMP? Any other places of interest?
hinzm3 09-14-2005, 07:25 PM BMP would NOT be worth the trip....
Car related maybe RUF in dallas
The Beastmaster 09-14-2005, 07:30 PM He also used to wrench for a P car GT Cup team and has a nice DP935 in his garage.
He's looking more for the BMW and MINI stuff.
hinzm3 09-14-2005, 07:41 PM I went to BMP 2 years ago for a car show/meet that they sponsored. Its not worth the 2.5 hour drive from Dallas imo. Maybe some of the other people that went will chime in.
SecretAznSauce 09-14-2005, 08:21 PM good places to visit, Mike's, my place, Sean's who else does work?
mpower001 09-15-2005, 12:51 AM Autoscope in Richerdson/Plano area is not bad. I visited them when they had DINAN day. They are really big on the DINAN stuff. They have a few blown M3s. Not a very huge place but the guys there have some nice rides.

:nutz: thanks for leaving me out...... :fingerboi
Gofast 09-15-2005, 10:07 AM It's a trek, but Bavarian Hypersport in North Houston is definitely top-notch.
Joel just built a customer e46 M3 that's delivering something like 380 at the wheels normally aspirated; and he's building another one as we speak that he predicts will decently trump that.

its showing TPS sensor which I have one off my spare motor at parents house so this weekend I'll swap sensors and see what happens. I didn't find any loose connectors. Unplugging the battery made my windows no longer double click to roll up. I can't get it to show me the fault codes anymore so if it needs the TPS to show the throttle wide open then with a faulty TPS unit it would loose that ability leaving me to believe its the TPS gone bad. I need a fault code reader.

weaksauce 09-16-2005, 11:02 AM this is a typical Texas thread. If it makes 4 posts without going off topic it's a mirical. They all start different, but end the same......
