I need some help on getting two things done with my beemer. It is a 95 318i and I have two problems. Maybe the last of big ones. The rack steering on the car is broken and I need to figure out how to get it replaced. Also either the master/slave cylinder,or bleeder is leaking fluid. I have no back pressure unless I pump the clutch several times to get the pressure up, only to have the fluid leak out. Where is the bleeder valve? Could it be that the valve is open and the fluid is leaking from there? It really comes out fast. Also on the rack steering, what should I expect on the repair of this. Can I ride without it, just losing the power steering until I get it repaired? :help :help :help :help :help :help :help :help :help

i read it 3 times and i still don't understand.

your rack, is it just leaking or is it loose?

your clutch pedal dropping, have you found a leak? actually fluid spill? IIRC the bleeder is on the tranny itself, but its been a long time since I've done it)

The steering rack will probably cost around $1000 for everything. The bleeder valve for the clutch is on the slave cylinder which is on the driver's side of the transmission. You cant miss it.

Buy me a 6 pack of beer and I'll look at your car and tell you what it needs. I'm busy this weekend, but anytime next week or next wekend is good.
I just finished replacing almost every common wear part on an E36 318 I bought from a resident alien. I got screwed on the deal, but he has like 40 kids and i felt sorry for him because he is short......
Seriously though. If you need some help PM me and I'll see what I can do.

I can help you out with cheaper parts and so can some of the other guys.... Ask Spanky/Jeff the prices are pretty good compared to Stealer
