View Full Version : Ready to get an E90, but need some advice

I haven't talked to my dealer yet, but I want to be prepared when I go in there.

I've got a Z4 now, so my emphasis on the E90 will be to make it more of a "touring" car rather than emphasising sport elements.

I'm thinking 325i with manual trans, leather, navigation, premium stereo and active cruise control. Builds out at a little over 39K.

First Question: Will a car equipped like that be easy to find? Is a dealer likely to have one or something very similar to that on his lot?

Second Question: Assuming the answer to the first question is 'no', I'd like to find out a little more about ordering one.

My wife ordered an E46 from the factory, so I'm a little familiar with the process, but she just paid MSRP. I don't have a problem with that if that's standard procedure, but I'm curious if it is possible to negotiate price even on a factory order. I understand they'd like to move the cars on their lot, but the dealer shouldn't pay any extra on a factory order, so they should have room for negotiation.

Can I negotiate? Should I just treat it like it's sitting on the lot and name the price I'm willing to pay, or should I just fork over MSRP and shut up about it?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

The sport package would be better money spent than the active cruise, IMO. Availability is still pretty slim, especially on a hard to find option like active cruise.

If you have an established relationship w/ a dealer, you should be able to get 2-3% off of MSRP, but the laws of supply and demand still apply.

good luck!

Thanks. I actually pulled the trigger this afternoon. He ordered exaclty what I wanted and took $1000 off MSRP (so 2.5%) and I was happy with that.

Looks like I just joined the club!
