It was pretty wild. Things got kind of rough on monday 3 cars ended up on thier roof, but all in all it was a great event.

I got lucky on sunday and almost all the ITE cars broke or just drove off the track and took 2nd in my M3. Almost got first lost by .851 seconds, American Sedans held me up. ran a 1:27.3xx which was faster than i had ever gone.

I know a few people from here went down. I think it was an ITS/JP Car. Marshall Lyttle i think. anyway I wish i was running with ITS rather than ITE, since a JP car won on Monday, i would have loved to have been out there doing battle. Dont know what kind of times you ran, just going by the BMWCCA event sheet.

Anyway, howd everyone do?

congrats andy!

yup that was me in the jp/its car. third on grid and third to finish sun (1:25.8 qualifying lap). on pole and got the checker on monday. that clinched the marrs its championship for me. some great racing this weekend! top five its cars were well under 1:27.

i hadn't seen a red flag in an scca race since driver school. there were three this weekend. fast weekend combined with lots of 'license renewers" maybe?

the best part of the weekend? the whole thing was a charity function for a local camp for kids who are burn victims. over $25k raised by the racers and workers. the smiles on the kids' faces climbing in the cars and getting their pic's taken with checkered flags were priceless.

25.8 is haulin ass. Congrats on your run.

yeah there were alot of people just getting thier race in for thier license.

I wish my poor car was classed better. its discouraging when on lap 6 the paint gets sucked off your car by the intake of a GT1 Camaro as he comes around to lap you. I got lucky on sunday with so many cars falling out of the race. They did raise alot of money.

My diff started to go in monday's race towards the end, let my father drive the car and just as I hoped he determined the car needed suspension work since he wouldnt listen to me. Hopefully we get it in for Oktoberfest.
Hope to see you down there

I have some video from my race on sunday and my fathers race on monday. My video was pretty exciting so I couldnt bring myself to edit anything out. A 4cylinder car reeling in v8s is always fun to watch. So that video is the full race length in not so great quality, to keep the file size down.

I have the start of my dads race which is well, nerve racking

what kind of car was that. I saw an e30 m3 rear wing in the mirror but it was generating a lot of wheel spin for an e30m3, even on cold tires.

its an E30 m3, we hare having problems with wheel spin but the car is too stiff in the rear
we disconnected the rear sway bar and that helped alot with the wheel spin but didnt fix it completely the only way to fix it and from what i understand its a problem on alot of M3's is to have extra clutches put in the diff. The only way to solve it as of now is to roll into the throttle rather than mash it down

Here is my race. There are some great examples of the negatives of horsepower. You get to see how brakes and handling can make all the difference against American Sedans with V8s.

You could always try lighter spring rates.

yeah we dont have any lighter springs though. I think its going to be DM car next year anyway were having a weld in cage put in it this winter and such we got some Adjustable Shocks and such from Tony as well. I think it will need a little engine work before i go into DM with it though. Ill run in SPU in SCCA so as long as i dont do a stroker on it and make it a 2.5 I will be legal as long as its Normally Aspirated.

Cool video, thanks for sharing.

Am I the only one that notices this? Whenever I watch a video someone recorded in the their club race car, I'm always surprised that the picture does not break up when you drive under a bridge. I've been watching pro motorsports on TV for so long that I'm automatically conditioned to expect the picture to break up when the microwave link to the helicopter dies while under the bridge. :dunno
