I just took delivery of my '06 325i. I noticed an empty spot in the toolkit. Dealer tells me that they all come in that way. Not that I don't trust him, but is this true? The open spot is in the corner toward the front of the car on the driver side. Thanks.

Yeah, mine is like that, too. I think it's supposed to have some tools associated with whether you have runflats or not, but not so sure about that. I know you don't get an option when you order the car, but in case you put them on yourself later. Either way, the point is that you are not missing anything that was supposed to be in there.

Right... this has been happening for years. The tool kits only come with the tools for that specific car based on the options the car is equipped with.

Thats the slot where the "key" for the BMW Anti Theft bolts go.
Many countries get them standard, USA has to buy them seperately

yeah, i know that the US e46s dont have the spark plug socket and the fold-away hazard triangle....i bought the spark plug socket replacement from bavarian autosport, and i thing you can get the other missing items through bavauto also
