I think I might be having clutch issues.. when i do a startup after not driving for a good 4-5 hours or so it makes alot of noice.. sounds like its coming from the tranny area because I can feel a vibration in the clutch.. anyhow when i take it to redline in 3rd and switch to 4th in grinds before going into gear.. driving normal is fine.. though it feels like the transmissions kicks back at me when i try to shift.. im at 48k miles. my warranty is up at 50k.. do you think the dealer will replace my clutch/and or tranny?

I would take it in ASAP. Do not drive it anymore then you have to. Once your warrantee is up there is no chance they will help. At least now you still have some shot of getting some kinda financial help for what ever may be wrong. I'm no expert but when you say it grinds, the first thing that pops into my head is the sincro's. It has such low millage that the tranny should be fine, but my mom went thru 4 automatic transmissions in her brand new chevy tahoe before her warrantee was up so you never know. Deffinitely take it in though.

They should cover it. I mean I just talked to a small used car dealer today about an e36 m3 that had 160k miles on it. All their cars have "certified pre owned" on them. I asked if it was backed by a warantee and he said that it is and it covers everything except wear and tear items. Basicaly didnt cover tires and brake pads and stuff like that. He said the engine and suspension and tranny and clutch and all that stuff was under warantee. So if a small dealer like that covers it, then a larger one should as well.
