Gday,

I have a fairly good condition 88 M30 with a blown head gasket.

I am getting my headgasket fixed, and it is a big job. I want to maybe get some performance mods done at the same time so i can come out of this bad situation better then how i went into it.

What can i do to increase power where the main cost involved is removing the head? Someone reccomended new pistons and crankshaft, i have no idea though. If you could reccomend me some modifications to do totalling no more then about $1000 it would be much appreciated.

So far I am definately going to get a new water pump, injection service, valves adjusted and maybe a port and pollish.

Could anyone reccomend what else i should do, and if 1k will even be enough to get a little more out of it? Because if it wont make that much difference, i probably wont do it.

Also, is there any other parts down there that would be close to death that I should replace anyway?

Any input whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
