My brakes on my e28 535is aren't the best and I know they'll have to be worked on soon. I was thinking of just upgrading to larger brakes now that I have 17" wheels. I know the cheapest way to get bigger brakes on an e28 is to use e32 or e34 parts. What all would I need and how much would it cost to do this swap? Thanks.

It's probably going to cost a lot.

Maybe, but I'm hoping not as much as going with a Brembo kit.
Anyone on here know?

If you're just using your car for street and don't have a lot of money to throw around, ride out your OEM brakes.

I can sell you a set for $800, bigger and vented all around. (I don't have any available right now, but I can get them pretty quickly, maybe 2-3 weeks.
or you can ask nicely and I'll tell you how to do it for ~$600 + elbow grease.
good pad selection and good availability of rotors.

it doesnt cost that much to do and it;s a fantastic break upgrade for the E28. on the front of mine i replaced the 528i calipers/rotors and pads with E34 535i calipers/rotors and pads. all up cost me around the 500 mark, VERY happy with the outcome :buttrock

you can do lots better for not much more scratch... the rears are the big upgrade, getting something vented and HUGE diameter is easier than you think.
