Is that front fairing stock? The headlight doesn't look right for some reason. Looks small as crap.

DanH

Its got the "Clear" turn signals and modded front clear turn signals as well as a modded front headlight, SUUUUHHHHWEET.

Dean, yeah looks modded, and small, like Red Pollard on Sea Biscuit!

I think it's a CBR 600F2, but I'm bad at telling the difference between an F2 and F3. I know my buddy back in high school had a sweet CBR 600F3 in white/blue/red.

Matt's a pretty big guy for a 600 though, he just barely met my 200 lb weight limit on the last mountain drive I drove. ;)

:rofl @ Count... Though I have to say, it sounded more like a bunch of amplified, angry bees to me. :devillook

From what he told me, that sounds right, but I'm sure he can clarify things - once his internet service gets back up and running! Poor guy hasn't even seen these shots yet... His ISP's been kaput since last night! :eyecrazy :help

He is indeed a tall dude, that's for sure, around 6' 2-4"-ish, easily. So yeah, the bike looks somewhat "scaled down" with him on it. :biglaughb

Still cool, though, and a good time was had by all. We went up into the mountains, and as the day went on, we could tell he was getting a bit more comfortable handling the bike. I also have to give him credit for practicing good driving habits, not being squirrelly, and keeping a safe distance. He's also quite serious about wearing his jacket & gloves, even when others ditch them due to the heat (gotta get those pantleg cuffs under control, though!). And even when I was owning him in the twisties, he didn't try to push himself beyond his limits and catch up out of pride. More mature an attitude than one would expect from most guys his age, and most commendable. :buttrock

So as long as he continues to ride with his brain, and not his juevos, he should be in good shape. :alright

G.P. is already talking about doing another photo shoot. She wants to try some different settings on her camera and see what other kinds of results she can get. That, and judging from her enthusiasm during the follow-shots, I think there's the additional "fun factor" from hanging out the back of a car, shooting pictures. :D

Pretty cool way to spend a Saturday, really! :redspot

sweet dirt stain on the leg.
:confused

I am not at liberty to discuss any alleged dirt stains which may or may not appear to be on or about the person of any subject featured in the above photographs, nor any alleged circumstances under which any alleged dirt stains may or may not have come to be applied to the leg of said subject... :shifty

Unless, of course, somebody else gets the story out of him... :devillook

Yeah, I crashed. :rofl Luckily I had my gear on (AGAT... All Gear All the Time) and landed on dirt, or it could have been much worse.

Thanks so much for posting these, Doc. And for shooting them, G.P. It was a really great time up in the mountains. I didn't realize I look so big on the bike, I'll have to start shopping for a bigger one. :cool The bike is a 1994 Honda CBR600 F2. Apparently the F3s are a little bigger, so the upgrade path is obvious once I get tired of this one or make a little money. For the record, I am 6'2 without my hiking boots, and 200lbs with them.

No, it's not stock. The front fairing is a race fairing, the front headlight and turnsignals were added back to it. The weird little headlight is actually pretty bright.

Indeed. You're also lucky you went over the curb with the bike, as opposed to meeting it first with your leg. :help

At the time, it was rather unsettling. One second he was behind us in my mirrors, then, as I looked back to the curve in the road, I heard this faint chirp of a tire, followed by the sound of plastic hitting something.

I looked back at the mirror, and he wasn't there. :confused

"I don't see him," I said to G.P. Then after a few more seconds of not seeing him, it dawned on me that the "angry bees" were suddenly silent. "Wait a minute... I don't HEAR him either!!" :eyecrazy

So we pulled a U-turn, and went back to the curve to find Matt was already up, and had righted the bike. The right leg of his tan cords was a lovely shade of Georgia clay red, matching the right side of his bike, too! :rofl

He was waving his hands at us before we got out of the car, saying, "I'm okay! I'm okay!"

We surveyed the "crash scene" for a few minutes, as we all took a breather from the shake-up. Matt waxed philosophical about it, saying, "Well, okay. I laid the bike over. I got the first one out of the way. They say there's two kinds of bikers, those that have laid one over, and those that will lay one over, so okay... I've done it." He was playing it very cool, but it was clear (to the "old" guy anyway) that there were a few adrenaline-juiced nerves sorting themselves out. ;)

We decided to take a breather from the shoot for a while, and go to a store to get some paper towels to clean off the bike. So we rode carefully to a Wal-Mart a few miles away, and hung out in the parking lot as Matt cleaned off the bike, and we all chatted.

After a while, though, Matt realized he was missing his cell phone. It didn't take long for him to realize it had apparently fallen out of his pocket on impact (hey, that sounds pretty cool, eh Matt? "On impact!" Gotta say it with that growly, action-movie-trailer voice. "ON IMPACT!!" Yeah!)

So, with some time well spent cooling off and letting the adrenaline subside, we went back to the scene of the... yep! IMPACT! and sure enough, there in the tall grass, was Matt's cell phone, sporting a couple of clumps of newly-acquired dirt! :biglaughb

Y'know, now that I think of it, there are a couple of photos from the "crash scene" I could post up... :devillook

Thanks so much for posting these, Doc. And for shooting them, G.P. It was a really great time up in the mountains.
You're quite welcome! And yeah, we had a great time too. I don't know if you could hear it, but one of the times G.P. turned around and said something to me as she was hanging out of the back of the car, what she said was, "THIS IS COOL!!" :biglaughb

When you get a bike... I will return the favor. :nono

But yeah, it wasn't a big deal, BECAUSE I WAS WEARING GEAR.

I already have owned a bike. 1995F3.
And yes, I have dropped a bike before(and deserved to get laughed at). I will give you a bit of advice. Don't use a caliper lock then try to drive off fast w/o removing it. :shifty

That move cost me about $350 for a caliper(a hour for me to install it) and about half a month of riding w/o a front brake. haha
