OK, first a little background on my setup:

'98 318is
- Eibach pro kits (Crappy progressive rate springs)
- Tokico Blues (Non Adjustable)
- M3 RTAB bushings and Ground Control Spacers
- Ground Control Rear Shock Mounts
- Falken Azenis 225/45R17

Alignment:
Front - Camber:-1.7 - Toe:0
Rear - Camber:-1.0 - Toe:-1/32nd

A little background on my autocrossing:
I have the car set up to run pretty neutral, I'm running 50 PSI in the front and 45 PSI in the rear and I find I'm getting lots of grip and very little oversteer. With the above setup I'm running near the top for the competitors on street tires (Very fast drivers here). I'm finding it hard to tell if I'm running on the bump stops though, I'm suspecting that I am because of the springs. Next year I am looking at running 15" V710s, so I am going to get a lot more body roll. I'm considering buying some sway bars, my questions are the following.

1) Will adding the sway bars reduce the grip that I'm currently getting? Will the increased roll stiffness help me through the slolam? Is the increased rear stiffness going to make it too difficult to stop wheel spin?

2) Which are better to get? I'm looking at either UUC or Eibach.

Please share your thoughts and experiences. What have the nationally competitive guys done with 318s?

Bump, no advice?

First thing I would do is replace your shocks and springs to something a bit more autocross friendly, then add sway bars if you need to. You said it yourself, your running on your bumpstops. The Blues are basicly factory replacements.

Yes, but this isn't a dedicated Auto-X car. And although the Eibach's aren't great for autocross, I do love the streetability of them.

Theoretically the sway bars should add a bit of spring rate. Will it be enough to compensate for the progressive rate springs? Or will I just end up lifting tires?

Maybe I've answered my own question as I have seen a local M car on 3 wheels around nearly every cone, and I nearly lift a front tire already.

I currently have UUC Swaybarbarians on my car. Not that I dont like it, but if I had to do it again, I would opt for RD bars (bigger fronts, smaller rears as compared to UUC or Eibach). E36 chassis seems to like bigger larger bars (tried and tested).

Your springs are too soft for serious AutoX use. Stiffer bars will help. I'd go with the Ground-Control setup if you can afford them, since they have the most flexibility with the slide adjustable front, and 5 hole rear (if the rear works on your 318).

Otherwise, I'd go with the H&R setup, or at least the front GC bar with an H&R rear if you the GC rear won't fit the 318.
