I just wanted to post that I recently went through the WORST EXPERIENCE ever dealing with Shelly BMW in Buena Park, California. I took my 745i in three weeks ago to fix an airbag and seat belt light that came on.

The service advisor told me she would have the car back to me in two days, and that it was a simple repair. Two days pass, and she calls back me back telling me they are having trouble programing the car, and it will take another day. Well another day passes, and still no car. I finally get the car back on Friday afternoon, three days later then expected. At that point I was just happy to get my car back.

The same day while my friend drives me to the airport, the airbag and seat belt light come back on. I had just left the dealership 30 minutes prior. I call the dealership and the service advisor tells me to bring it in as soon as I can. I tell her it will have to be a few weeks, since the car is getting the AC Schnitzer body kit on.

Long story short, yesterday I brought my car back in to get the airbag and seat belt light relooked at. I get a call this morning, and then tell me that it is no longer under warranty, because I put on a AC Schnitzer body kit and exhaust. I have to call this the biggest B.S. I have heard in my life. At these point I am going to call BMWNA and write a letter to address the horrible practices at this shady dealership.

You had to know that was going to void the warranty. The body kit probably requires augmenting the body wiring/electronics and the exhaust definitely changes the mechanical aspects of the car. Did you check with them about the changes before you had the kit installed?

The body kit is an add on, not a full replacement. There is no wiring or alteration involved. I would love to hear how replacing an exhaust can void a warranty for an airbag and seat belt light that is already faulty. Congress did pass the Magnuson act that prevents companies from voiding warranty because another part of the car is modified.

I would like to know how these mods voided the warranty? Did you ask them that? After they told you that, didn't you question them? That's insane. More info please...

Yeah its the biggest load of B.S., I have ever heard. How does a Full AC Body Kit and AC Exhaust interfere with an airbag and seat belt light that was already on before? It really makes no sense.

You know what's sad? BMWNA will not care. They'll say "we have no juristiction over our service facilities as they are independently owned" That's what they told me when my #$(%&#@$#@()&#@&#@$(@#&$#@ing dealer tried to swindle me out of 5000 dollars when I took my e46 in for what ended up being a STRIPPED BOLT!!! They said I'd jumped my car in the air. BS!!!!

I called BMWNA 3 times. After explaining the situation each time.

I was told:

1. I was called a liar

2. Was told I had no proof

3. I was called a liar again and was told I know nothing about cars. (In those words)

Mind you each time I was calm, explainined thoroughly.

I HATE HATE HATE BMW service facilities, BMWNA is also a joke.

it doesn't. if you complain to BMW NA they will probably get a tap on the wrist. time to find a dealer that's more "mod-friendly" i guess.

so is the 745 your new project? i loved the 911 C2 you did before. to think that it was a completely stock blue C2 when you first got it and when i first saw it with Kev at your factory. i'm going to try and get a 911 turbo at the end of the year. are you going to do another porsche or go back to BMWs?

My project for SEMA this year is my Veilside Majistry Comptech Supercharged NSX-T. My first Japanese show car in 6 years. It will be revealed at the SEMA show in Nov in the iForged Booth.

No wonder I can't afford to buy your wheels, I'd be paying for your body kit and exhaust also! :biglaughb You gotta get some pics up once you figure out what will happen with those issues! I'm thinking of the VF kit also, what made you go for it? There is a long thread about it under S/C marketing request started by Umnitzma...some good info!

PS - I met some guys at a DTMPower meet, and they were saying something about water getting trapped between the face and rim on rainy days which would cause the wheel(s) to wobble. They were saying that it was due to the water causing in inbalance, any fix for this next time I see him? He said it happened to him, along with some other guys that were discussing it at a track event.

because I put on a AC Schnitzer body kit and exhaust.

I dont get this BMWNA Dont Authorize AC Schnitzer, Its an Authorized BMW Tuner in Europe, Even then BodyKits would not void the warranty Exhaust is a warranty voider...

You should argue the fact that the fault was brought in to be fixed, prior to the AC Schnitzer goodies being added, that they failed to rectify this fault and that you informed them of the fact it was going to be getting the AC Schnitzer stuff put on, yet they never mentioned that they wouldnt Fix it under warranty after this, giving you the option to do it before...

Also I think more of you should be asking whats difference with American BMW's to European, because by the sounds of it BMWNA are shafting you all.

In the UK BMW authorized tuners include AC Schnitzer, Alpina, Hartage and recently i think Hamann

Good luck

Okay, so I won't go to Shelly in Buena Park. Anybody know a good service center to go to in SoCal?

I used to go to Shelley - :nono NEVER AGAIN! Even though I bought the car from them and used them a few times for service, many times it was poor service or took too long.

I suggest Nick Alexander in LA. Ask for Jose Virgin (service advisor). He will take care of you. Tell him that Rene Rizo (me) recommended you to go to him. His wife worked with me for 5 years until this past June. I still go to him. He and that dealership have their act together!

Good Luck! :alright
