nice looking 760...those wheels do drive me nuts. I would look at what BMW has....they have some very attractive new wheels that look just spectacular on a 7. Congrats and enjoy!

1stly if an e65 is nicer than ur e38... it must have been an ugly e38.

I thought 760's came with Style 101 wheels as standard or as a no cost option. These are the only OEM Wheels for a e65 7 Series Unfortunatley If they Didnt come on your 760 as a no cost option when you bought it your looking at the far side of (£4000) $8,000 from the dealer.

Is a E66

Bought the car used, and the rims, wheels, or whatever you want to call them are the upgraded runflats with the tire pressure moniotoring system, would love a set of the 101's on the car.

but i have to respectfully disagree about looking better than an E38...

i'm sure it rides and drives better, but looks an E38 is just dead sexy

Looks and style are purely subjective. That said, when I went from an E38 to an E66 I did not expect any compliments because I thought the general public hated the E65/66. To the contrary and my surprise, people stop me in parking lots all the time and rave about the car.

It occurred to me that the only people I come accross that hate the style and think it is ugly are E38 owners. I have also seen more and more former E38'ers jumping into E65/6's of recent with the 100k warranty.

So, I will say this, I really liked my E38, but this baby is leaps and bounds ahead of the E38 in terms of technology, power and handling (if you have adaptive ride). Plus, I don't have to deal with pixels, radiators, power steering lines, etc.

I'm rocking the 101's on mine....last year they had a different rim which was that paired 5 spoke job...I should really learn the wheel models...agh

I bet it drives insane!!

I'm not so sure it looks better then an e38 though :nono

BTW, did you lease or buy? I know most lease a 7-series, probably a good idea with the way they go down in value :(

According to some people on here (I won't mention any names) 2001 E38 Sport (and only sport) is the only way to go I beg to differ.

In e38 land, this is correct. Unless you have incredible mods like big Sim or other mods that allow you to go 172mph then the Sport is a great bang for the buck. Want me to mention a name for you? dwightf.

Your car kicks ass. All you need is wheels, and staggered 20s will do fine. Conservative, you could go Style 32s or the M-composites that come on E65/66. You could do replica 32s from Factory Reproductions or similar, get the tires and all for comfortably under the 3k credit.

Add some more, and do the iForged or similar, something with a nice deep lip on rears would look fabulous.

That is my next car...

Joe-BMW

It does. I have the rear seat package as well. It is very impressive when people are in the back and they put it down. You can even control the front passenger seat from the rear passenger seat position if you want more leg room. Thank god I can cut off the juice to these things from the front or my kids would be wearing out my rear seat motors and shades :)

FYI MPG on the new N73 is very good. At least as good as a V8 with 2/3 the power. It gets 23mpg on the highway....while still being a 6.0 V12.

I looked around on the web for the cheapest price seeing that my dealer did not want to come down from $4,000.
http://www.bmwwheels.com/
They sell real BMW wheels seeing that they are a dealership, and they are also about 22% off.
Had my dealership match the price, they came really close.

The rear tires that i took off when i changed over the wheels were shot, left alot of 200 foot black lines on the road near work.

BMW is the Ultimate PD (Panty Dropper), Believe that.

But PD asside, at a minimum every 7 series owners should have 19" alloys and if you decide to go with after-market: Breyton's, AC Schnitzers will definately set you 7 in a Klasse (Class) by it-self.

I have the 19" OEM Sports.

Congrats on the 760Li, bet that V12 6.0 litre goes like the wind. I do however prefer the slight styling changes to the interior and exterior on the new 2006 models. I just took delievery of a 2006 740i and its amazing. I thought I loved my E39 5 Series, this is a dream. i-Drive is easy to work out, I dont know why everyone complains, drive the car for a week and you will understand.

Yeah, BMW exports a lot of different motor options to other parts of the world. When I lived in Taiwan, they had E38 models including 728i, 735i/iL, and even an E36 316i... not sure why they felt the need to go lower than the 318i. I believe in some places, the 735i/L had a 3.5-liter V8 and other places, it was an I-6. I was too young to either hear the difference in the stock exhausts then and deffinitely not around a garage with one in it that I'd be allowed to pop the hood on. I'd have loved to hear the 3.5 V8 with an exhaust on it though. A lot of it had to do with emissions regulation and their evaluation procedure for imported cars was pretty wierd. Even Chrysler makes a 4-liter 4 cylinder Jeep Grand Cherokee to throw the taxes off for having twice as many cylinders, but they still kept the displacement. Pretty crazy game for some countries I guess.
