View Full Version : Got my ZHP 4k dip fixed
jawjatek 08-30-2005, 10:14 PM Per the previously posted info on various forums, my SA had the DISA valve replaced and sent my DME to NJ for reprogramming. I just picked up the car today. The dip is totally gone and the power band is smooth all the way up to redline. You better believe I tested it. Car feels so much better now. I'm happy! :buttrock

bbelt88 09-03-2005, 04:16 AM dude silver streak... did u really run 14.0 flat with ur ZHP stock? thats crazy. I have a ZHP as well and i had no idea it was that fast. How fast do u think the auto would be in the quarter if u had to guess.
SilverStreak 09-03-2005, 04:27 PM Yes, it was bone stock. It was also low 60's at Atco (sea level track) and I have 19 yrs drag racing experience under my belt (about 8800 runs, or so...).
Not sure about the auto... figure a few tenths off due to gearing, shifting, the launch, and the extra weight of the auto...
I'd guess mid 14's...

I am sorry but what is an SA and DISA valve exactly? Also how much did the reflash cost you? BTW if you have an auto, under what RPM's does the car shift from 1st to 2nd. Mine shifts at 6500 RPM. The dealer said its normal but I dont believe them. One more question does anyone know how I can reset the tranny adaptation memory? Sorry for all the questions but these "problems" are really bugging me.

Yah that seems about right. My friend has a convertible ZHP and he ran 15.34 but thats probably because the convertible is heavier and my friend is a bad driver lol.... i pick up my car this week from the shop... she got new dinan mods : throttle body, stage 3 software, exhaust, and intake.... should be fun...
bbelt88 09-04-2005, 04:41 AM another quick question.... how fast is the CL type s? i have a friend who wants to run with me with one of those.

They are not that fast. You should be able to beat him especially with the mods you described.
BTW we have almost the same description under our user names. LOL :stickoutt

SilverStreak 09-05-2005, 04:07 PM I got my wife's CL-S 6 spd to a 14.11 at 95.9 mph at the same track where I got the 14.008 in the ZHP... they are close if he's good at launching FWD...

SA is service advisor at the dealer; no clue what DISA valve is. No auto - 6 speed. This only applies to certain ZHP cars w/manual transmissions. This was repaired under warranty and cost me $0.00.

Don't worry, that means you're normal, cuz it's supposed to... :D
zhpdom 10-09-2005, 07:04 PM Here is the TSB from BMW on the problem...
sailwind 10-10-2005, 02:24 PM Did a dyno on my ZHP last week (Got 210 rear wheel/247 at crank). and it showed a very pronounced 4k rpm drop, although I don't feel it myself. Feels more like a surge at 4200rpm.
The new TSB from zhpdom looks very promising. I'm hesitant to get my DME sent off for reprogramming if the resulting performance is worse. Has anyone tried this fix and verified the problem has improved?
gibbyfxdwg 10-11-2005, 08:52 AM I actually got the fix done last week. The power is really smooth now and I tested it out as well.
