I'm looking to buy a 325i and I'm wondering what people in Southern California have been getting for their E90 325i.

I've only tried one place so far (Sterling BMW) and I got nothing off MSRP. They told me the car is hot and they can't keep them in stock, so they are not discounting.

I hear others are getting as low as $500 above invoice.

Since the SoCal market is a little different from the rest of the country, I'd like to know what others in SoCal are getting...and where.

I'm looking to buy asap.

Thanks.

I'm located in SO TX, and I have been in the market for over a month now shopping every dealer within a 200 miles radius which includes San Antonio and Houston. The best deal I could get was $500 off sticker and a free set of mats. However, yesterday I drove to San Antonio with a pre-approved lease and manage to get a grand off of sticker. Best I could do and I feel lucky to get that. I think you would have to know someone to get a deal at $500 over invoice, these cares are just too hot right now. My local dealer got seven new cars in Friday and sold six of that at sticker before the end of the day. He would not budge and and even read that some are trying to charge over sticker. BTW, BMW is raising their prices about $600 effective 09-01, so if you buy one on the lot now you'll already save yourslelf this amount. Not sure if they added something to the car to raise the price.

Post the exact options and colors of the vehicle that you want, and I will tell you what we would sell it for. Asking MSRP is a joke. I can't believe dealers are getting away with that.

Any vehicle that was not secured in the order bank by July 20th should reflect the new price change. The base price did go up $600 on the 325's. Option prices remain the same.

My 325i specs are

- Ext: Dark Blue (i'm not sure if it's Mystic or Monaco), or Arctic Metallic.
- Int: Black Leatherette w/ poplar wood trim

- Steptronic transmission
- Sport package

...and that's about it.

The darkest blue on the E90 is Monaco. It's dark navy and is similar to the Orient Blue BMW uses on other models. Mystic is more like a royalish blue, but has just become available on the E90 starting with sept. production units.

BASE $30,900
DESTINATION $695
STEPTRONIC $1,275
METALLIC PAINT $475
SPORT PACKAGE $1,600

MSRP $34,945
DISCOUNT $1,165
MY SALE PRICE $33,780

If the car you want has already been built, and is not a Sept. production car, subtract $600 from the base price. As previously stated, anything ordered after July 20th will reflect the $600 price increase from BMW.

I also wanted to tell you that you may want to consider spending the extra for the leather interior. Leatherette can be hard to deal with in Hot climates. Your back will stick to the seat constantly. And you can't slide freely on the seat like you can with the leather. The leatherette is a bit more durable though. Just thought I'd let you know.

I'm guessing the discont would equal the shipping charges? Any creative ideas to get it to SoCal?

I agree with your comment on the leather package...I think it would be a good idea to get it.

The bluetooth function seems quite primitive. There are not many compatible phones. I've got a T-mobile 7100t blackberry. It doesn't look like it's compatible.

Actually, I've heard someone say they did get the 7100 to work. I'll ask around tomorrow and see if I can find anything out. Remember you also get the auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors, mirror compass, leather and power seats, and power folding mirrors in addition to bluetooth with the Premium Package.

As far as shipping the car, it costs about $1800-2000 for us to ship a car to Cali in a covered transport. You'd be better off flying out and driving it back. It's actually an awesome trip across country if you've never done it. We drove to Tahoe and stopped at quite a few places. Took us 5 days but it was worth it in my opinion. If you would be seriously interested, I could probably take a little bit more of the price stated above. It would help to offset some travel charges at least. And I forgot to mention it only took us 2 days to get back. We drove straight through though and had 2 drivers. It also didn't hurt that we were in a M5 with a radar uhhh...well they couldn't catch what they couldn't see. ;) That's the ultimate high speed cruiser. I think we averaged about 130 according to the trip computer.

What is the price before the price change? On the bmwusa site the 3series is priced at 30,900 and I thought that was the original price

Prior to 7/20/05, cars in inventory or secured orders had a base price of $30,300. The price for anything ordered after July 20th will reflect the $600 increase to $30,900.
