View Full Version : '87 944 Turbo For Trade/ Sale
onewhippedpuppy 08-26-2005, 07:49 AM Due to my wife changing jobs I need to get rid of my 944 Turbo for something more family friendly. Though it does fit, carseats and 951s don't mix well. I am asking $9000 OBO, or would consider a trade for anything German, 4 door, manual and rear wheel or all wheel drive. Good examples include a early 90s Audi S4 or S6, early 90s M5, 540, etc. Whatever it is must be in great shape, I don't have the time for a project, and it will be a daily driver. Now, on to the 951.
'87 944 Turbo in excellent condition, Zermatt Silver over Burgandy partial leather, 117,000 miles, Weltmeister chips (have originals), Lindsey Boost Enhancer, shimmed wastegate, test pipe, Brey Krause strut tower brace, Bilsteins, MO30 caster blocks, SS brake lines with ATE Super Blue, 17" C2 replicas with new Fuzion tires, MOMO wheel, VDO boost gauge, more I probably forgot. Power windows, mirrors, driver's seat, Alpine CD, A/C that works great, cruise. Everything works as it should. Over maintained, over 2" of records with lots of recent parts, excellent driving car. Email for more pics and an .xls file of major maintenance, and with any potential trades. jessup3@cox.net
ashirji 08-26-2005, 08:50 AM bump for a great seller, and a stand up guy on the Porsche forums. Best of luck on your sale as well.
onewhippedpuppy 08-26-2005, 04:47 PM Thanks, your 3 series would be at the top of my list if your wife would let you have another toy! :cool
Just to elaborate a bit more, I'd consider something like an older E39 or E46, it doesn't have to be anything too exotic.
onewhippedpuppy 08-27-2005, 11:41 AM Weekend bump.....
M triple 08-28-2005, 08:35 AM Any interest in an older 92 525i(E34) 5 speed with 113,000 and lots of new parts? It's a one owner California car that has never seen the winter and is in almost pristine condition.

onewhippedpuppy 08-28-2005, 01:08 PM Thanks, but I really am not looking for an E34. Looks really nice though, good luck with the sale.
bmwm3n528 08-28-2005, 01:52 PM Thanks, but I really am not looking for an E34. Looks really nice though, good luck with the sale.
You mentioned you were interested in a '90s M5...is that E34 or E39?
onewhippedpuppy 08-28-2005, 02:12 PM E34. Though I would happily trade for an E39 :) . I should have written my previous post a bit more carefully, I really am not interested in a E34 525. I'd consider 540s, and would love an M5.
bmwm3n528 08-28-2005, 05:17 PM I should have written my previous post a bit more carefully, I really am not interested in a E34 525.
That's why I posted.
Have an M Sport 540i, but need something with more doors than a 951. :D
onewhippedpuppy 08-28-2005, 06:04 PM Yeah, not much I can do about that. If you change your mind let me know, an M5 is near the top of my list.
onewhippedpuppy 08-28-2005, 08:28 PM Anyone who wants to contact me, please don't use the PM, I can't access it for some reason. Any ideas why?
M triple 08-29-2005, 04:06 AM I think it has to due with the amount of posts you must have before you can access it. I think right now you simply dont have enough....
My 525 is definately no M5, but it does get 30mpg. :D
Good luck with the sale, beautiful car!

He should be good now: you must have 10 posts before you can PM.
onewhippedpuppy 08-29-2005, 11:33 AM Thanks guys, it works now.
onewhippedpuppy 08-29-2005, 10:28 PM Daddy wants a BMW!!!! :buttrock
TX S3 08-29-2005, 11:30 PM Hmm a E34 M5 or 540i= to a turbo 944, does that sounds fair?
onewhippedpuppy 08-30-2005, 07:44 AM I can only assume you are questioning it? There's more nice E34 540is in the $7-10k price range than I can count, and I have seen E34 M5s for under $10k as well. I'm asking $9,000 for my 951, which is pretty much market value for a nice one, low mileage exceptional 951s still go for around $15k. Sooooo, a trade is not exactly far fetched. Really, there's even a few E39 540s listed for under $10k, and lots of 528s.
BimmerFreak 08-30-2005, 05:59 PM I sent you an email regarding this.

Nimble 09-01-2005, 12:52 PM Is your car still for sale?
onewhippedpuppy 09-01-2005, 06:02 PM I'm working on a trade for BicycleFreak's 540/6.
ashirji 09-01-2005, 08:07 PM Hope it works out for both of you Matt. His car looks clean, and if the block issue is resolved, it should provide you with the space you need for the family, as well as the pace you need for yourself. Best of luck!
BimmerFreak 09-01-2005, 08:08 PM Yep.
I hope to have the trade completed by Monday :)
It may be uber ghey to already have a new sig worked up...but this is what im thinking of posting starting Monday;

Keep in mind, I SUCK at PS....so its the best I could come up with.
ashirji 09-01-2005, 09:50 PM Not bad. Once you get it, perhaps a better pic from which to start with would help. How do you say "51" in German? I personally think the front 3/4 is the best view on these cars, as it shows off the slick front end and gives a good shot of the swelling fender flares. Here is a website that you will become quite familar with once you have the car: www.pelicanparts.com
Best of luck to both of you!
BimmerFreak 09-01-2005, 11:07 PM Nein=NO
Neun=9
Im thinking about changing it to MeinFiftyOne (my 51)
Also, 51 auf Deutch ist einundfünfzig
bmwm3n528 09-02-2005, 12:59 AM How about this, trade for a '91 318is. :D
onewhippedpuppy 09-02-2005, 07:59 AM Nice signature, now I know what college teachers really do with all that spare time. ;)

Dude, I dont have any free time!
3 jobs, 2 kids, 2 dogs, and a cat take care of that for me!
See you Saturday ;)
onewhippedpuppy 09-02-2005, 11:22 AM Just giving you sh!t. I swear, some professors at WSU don't so much more than that. :rolleyes
Yeah,
In my case...5 useless years of German in high school also gives me the ability to count. Curious...how did you get the umlaut to show up over the u??
b18cls1 09-06-2005, 07:13 PM did the deal go through?? i have a 98 318 5spd tan leather
sorry saw on pelican you sold it
BimmerFreak 09-06-2005, 07:58 PM Yep. Deal complete.
ashirji 09-06-2005, 09:11 PM How does the 951 compare to the E34 ?
BimmerFreak 09-06-2005, 09:49 PM I think the only way they are similar is that they both have four tires and a steering wheel.
Prior to the 540/6, my previous cars were M3, 635CSi, M3, M3 so while the 540/6 was fast and powerful, it was more refined and had a more solid feel than the cars I had prior.
The 951 is just plain RAW.
It reminds me of my old E30 M3 :)
The steering and handling is amazing! Power comes on hard and fast.
Bottomline; I love it :)
ashirji 09-06-2005, 09:55 PM Good to hear. Matt seems to be happy with the 540 as well. Now you need to check out all the goodies at pelicanparts.com. It doesn't happen very often that two people have exactly what the other wants and are happy with the trade. Guess both of you are pretty lucky. BTW, Great sig :buttrock
