Hey all:
My 1.8 M10 blew up just as I installed dual webers on the car. I am about to replace the engine with a 2.0 M10 from a 2002. However, I will install a new camshaft (with heavy duty dual valve springs and camshaft retainers) since the engine will be out of the car. I want to install either a 288 or 294 duration camshaft, but I will be keeping the stock 8.3:1 compression ratio for now. Will the 294 camshaft not work well with such a low compression engine and dual webers? Should I stick with the 288? The new engine is a late 2002 head with the E21 casting head. Thanks for the help.

On a related note, if I'm able to find a tii motor, can I just bolt on the front timing cover and water neck from my carbed 1.8 m10 that broke so I can bolt it in with carbs? This way I would have 9.0:1 compression.
