I've been looking around to find someone to do some bead blasting on parts .. there is one about 50 miles away.. so I'm kind of in a funk about getting parts done. Its kind of expensive and with gas prices driving 100 mile round trips etc kind of put me off the whole thing.

I mention this to a buddy of mine and he says 'oh i've got one of those' .. and sure enough he does. Man its crazy whats tucked away in his shop. Its a big cabinate with those arm inserts like you see in nuke plants.

So All I have to do is buy some glass beads and i'm in it!!!

stoked

That’s great, just remember the finer the grit (eg 80-90) the smoother the finish but the slower the removal. For under car bits you could use 30-40 grit for aggressive rust removal, and the finish would not matter. Good luck with it.

thanks for the advice. I'll make sure to get a few grades of beads when I order some

I do need a good mask for doing painting as well. Any model you particularly like?
