No, it's not what you think it is. We're a drinking club with a running problem. We meet, drink some beer, go for a run, drink some more beer, finish the run, and drink a little bit and make fun of each other and sing dirty songs.

It's a hounds and hares game - hares lay the trail and everyone else follows. This Monday (Aug 29) is my haring debut so don't miss this chance to come out to Forest Glen metro and mock me mercilessly.

If you come out, wear shoes you can get dirty/muddy and bring a change of clothes in a bag. You will get wet at the very least. Come find me at the meeting place if you know me, otherwise ask around for someone to point out the hares. I'll be the one who doesn't look like a thirtysomething surfer.

*You will be asked for ID. Just sayin'...

I have a running problem as well and will be running the A-10 on sunday morning. Given how f'ed up my knee is going to be, I probably shouldn't run the next day :(

Good luck! I tried to sign up but I was told it was already full. Anybody running in any of the events at the Baltimore Running Festival this year?

I'll be lucky to finish without walking... I'm hurtin' and haven't run more than six miles in over a month. :(

Don't be a puss. It's fun and everyone has stuff to do the next morning so no one actually gets drunk. Two weeks ago I went and even went to the bar afterwards when I had to be at work the next morning at 6:30.

Hares - people who set the trail
hashers - people (and animals I guess) who hash
A to A - the trail ends where it begins - so no shuttles back to the start are needed
shiggy - rough terrain; tunnels, stream crossings, fences, branches, jungle, etc (there will be some fun terrain on this trail :evil2 :evil2 )
PI - poison ivy

Yeah I re-read your post and saw it was awhile ago. I've been hashing for less than a year. I don't even have a hash name yet. :( Maybe soon.
