A friend of mine blew an engine in his E36 325 and needs to get it fixed. Apparently it happened due to a downshift into 2nd from somewhere over the legal speed limit... :stickoutt I believe those are called "money-shifts" on the boards, and now he knows why.

From what I'm told he isn't very mechanically inclined. So any suggestions for him on where to go(NOVA region prefered)? Thanks in advance guys...

He should probably consider buying a new car and selling that one for parts. An E36 325 has very little value these days, and a rebuilt engine could very well end up costing him most of the value of the car, if not more.

have him drop a 2.8 and keep his wiring harness. there will have to be some stuff done to convert it to obd1, but that would be the best bang for the buck. 2.8l's are cheap these days.
