Has anyone had luck with polishing/painting their 320i turbine wheels? I have a set in good shape, but they are just too dull, and don't do anything for the car. Some added shine would make them look alot better.

My car is black, so painting them black probaly wont work.

Get a good wheel spray paint from your local auto parts store, sand down or sand blast the wheels and paint them.
If you have never really used spray paint, just practice on a spare part so that you can get a smooth and perfect finish.
That is the way I did my spare minus the practice and it turned out looking factory.
Good luck!

You paint them but if you polish them they last longer than painting them. If you could find a person that repairs wheels or just check around custom wheel shops they could polish them for around 1-200. It shouldn't be more than that because i had my 15'' Alpinas Polished for 150. I am also polishing the lip of my winter/rain set of BBS wheels right now with a car buffing machine and 3 different polishes/cleaners. The mesh is gold but i am going to paint them black.

I'm looking for a brighter finish with more shine. My turbines are in good shape, but they just don't look good on a black car.

Currently the car has gold BBS wheels , but some shiney turbines would look nice too :)

Im afraid a color closer to chrome would look cheap, but I don't have alot of experience with wheel painting.

I have access to a sand blaster, and have worked with spray paint before.

Pain them silver. I dont think it would come out nice if you did it with a can. If your going for quality then use a gun or get them sprayed.

you think 13" rims would fit inside a conventional oven? if it does, I would try that HotCoat powdercoating kit on Eastwood.com

Whatever you do don't use an oven you plan to cook in EVER again - chris

I'm not even sure if paint will give me the shine I want. Has anyone seen the Alpina wheels that look like turbines, but with some shine?

I think I would actually have to polish them, and then add some clear coat.

No way i'm polishing them by hand though. Im starting to think this isn't going to happen without a bunch of money.
