I now BMW rates the 325i at 20 city and 30 hwy but what kind of average gas
mileage are you new E90 325i owners getting?
After giving a friend the sales pitch on a new E90 instead of an older
5 or 7 series I started thinking about the numbers for myself.
Just doing the math based on my current 20mpg average, if I only got 26 mpg
average in the 325i, at $2.90 a gallon gas price I could save $60 a month in
gas alone. And I would never have to do anything to the car except put gas
in it for 4 years where as I would end up spending about $2k in regular
maintenance on my M3 over that time span, IF nothing broke, thats another
$40+ a month savings over my M3. Plus, I would be able to do DE's and track
events in the car, currently banned by the convertible top. With 3,200#,
215hp, a 3.23 diff, and close 6 speed gearing it shouldn't be too far off
the pace of my M3 convertible either.
