I replaced my oil/filter this weekend and went 300 miles (Detroit - Chicago) on half a tank! After I got home, the OBC showed that I still had 208 miles left in the tank and the needle was on half way.

That means that I went 300 on about 9 gallons = over 33 MPG!!!

One thing though, I didn't use AC at all.

I also installed new front pads/sensor and reinstalled new angel eyes. Pics to come...

Ooh man. What kind of gas were you using? I can't wait to see what I get in the 528i when the weather gets cooler - no A/C, better gas and denser air. :)

Shell V V V V V VVVVV Powaaaa!

I only use Shell and Mobile. Usually I only have about 1/4 - 1/3 of the tank left when I take this trip!

I used to have a 3-series that got around 32MPG on 150-mile trips. This car does a little bit worse but I'm always keeping it in the low 20s, well within the EPA estimates.

how big is your gas tank? mine is 21 gallons. when i first got the car i thought id never have to fill it ever again, since everything else id had driven where 3/4 the size. but every time i fill up my calculator shows an estimated 500+ miles to the tank. which sounds right. i do a mix of city and highway. but my motor is small. too small :(

Maybe you'll have better luck driving on I94 :)

You are reporting insane mpg figures. Which far exceed brake specific fuel consumption number. I would check twice with a calculator. You could do that, driving 70 or so in 6'th with a stiff, stiff tailwind

Drove up to Denver this past weekend in the M. :alright On the first tank covered 367 miles at an average speed of 81 mph, and took on 16.9 gallons in Colo. Springs. This comes out to about 21.5 mpg, ignoring the OBC. This included many miles covered at high speed.

Haha guys, I was suprised myself. Like I said, usually I need 3/4 of a tank to get there. An important thing I should have mentioned is that I didn't use AC at all.

I take I88 to I294 to I94 to M14 to I96.

I changed my oil prior to driving to New Orleans and was able to make it to Mobile before filling back up. That was running 89 octane with 85 mph cruise and a/c on high. Was able to average 31mpg. I don't think this is totally out of the question if you are in 6th.

OT: What AE's are those Amoo?

The ones in the pic are the older Umnitza's.

The ones I have now are Umnitza chromiums, which I really like! I'll take pics when I get a chance.
