carb connection is supposed to be good.

I personally go to Gerber motorsports in Magnolia. They are a porsche shop but deal with alot of exotics. plus they will let you look around the race-prep warehouse next door if you ask.

They are not cheap but you will find this the norm. They are honest, knowledgable and shake your hand while charging you full price. :)

I would strongly recommend against Carb Conn.

by the way tried to pm you but that is not an option...

or contact me directly at mhoven@comcast.net

also you might want to come and see us this weekend ....Saturday morning at Issaquah Starbucks in Home Depot center meet at 7:30 am the "Seattle 5's and 7's meet early before the 8:30 run takes off "....I'll be there at 8am...I'm leading the 3 Passes Tour to Yakima that day.....

August 27th 3 Passes Loop Run

Saturday August 27th we will return to the 3 Passes Loop Run...also known as the "I can't believe I drove over 3 Mountain Passes just for some Mexican Food Run".

We will begin at Starbucks Issaquah in the Home Depot/Krispy Kreme Donut Center just north of Interstate 90 off the Front Street Exit...meet at 8am First car out at 8:30am. Back Roads to Enumclaw then Hwy 410 and Hwy 123 (if Hwy 123 has not been improved we may switch to the Chinook Pass Hwy option...) to Cayuse Pass then Hwy 12 past Rimrock Lake and the Tieton River Canyon to Yakima...we stop at the El Porton Mexican Restaurant for our namesake lunch.

After our Mexican Food Lunch the run's highlight is the drive up the 37 miles of Yakima River Canyon...a basaltic masterpiece of sweeping curves following the Yakima River which travels its full 37 miles with no side roads and few driveways. At the canyon's end in Ellensburg we break intoi smaller groups for the ride home on Interstatre 90. Returning to Seattle area at 6pm ish.

email me and tell me how many will be coming along so that I can warn the restaurant.

One needs to either be a BMW CCA club member to run or if you're a newbie you are allowed one run with the club prior to joining. We drive safe but we focus on having fun...any dangerous drivers or scofflaws will be asked to leave the drive.

Strictly BMW in Bellevue has been the best to me. Carb connection (now known as Racz Motorsports or something) has been alright as well. I highly recommend Strictly tho, they are very professional and work on EVERY bmw. Just cruise by their parking lot and you'll see lots of neat cars most of the time.

all the guys at eastside bavarian are awsome, they dont bullshit you around at all, and they are all very knowledgeable, sometimes its almost scary how much they know. plus they are in issaquah, and you get the bmwcca discount as previously stated. eastside bavarian is the place to go for sure. ive also heard that stricly bmw is good, but i dont have any experience with them.

I stopped by eastside bavarian the other day just to talk to them. they where really helpful, tried to rememer my name and offered to look over my car for free since i am going to be a new customer of theirs. my first impressions are very good.

car-tender.com in capitol hill is great as well. They're great because they don't BS you - even if you're only paying $45 for a half hour labor to troubleshoot something, they treat you like you're a valued customer. They even wash your car after they work on it - which was a pleasant surprise.

I'd heard alot of good things about Eastside Bavarian but they're just too far away - when i mentioned car-tender to them as an alternative, the guy I spoke to at Eastside Bavarian actually admitted that they're a pretty good shop too - says a lot when other shops say good things about a competing shop.

So I don't think you can go wrong with either Car-tender or Eastside Bavarian. Strictly BMW seems a little hit or miss though - a buddy of mine had some work done on his 325is there and he said that they were a little snooty to him when he mentioned that he likes to do some DIY stuff - like he couldn't possibly fathom how to deal with the workings of a BMW...

If you're willing to travel a little, I would recommend going to Specialty Motors in North Seattle. They are honest about prices and have quick turn around time. They specialize in all cars European.

My experience is people want a shop either near their work or home. If you are in Issaquah, then Eastside Bavarian is a no-brainer decision. Be sure to take advantage of the BMWCCA discount, it will pay for the memebership many times over.

I know you're on the eastside, and so the above posts make more sense... but Precision Motorwerks in Seattle has taken VERY good care of me and my car. They only work on BMW's and Volvo's... and they have assigned techs for each, so the BMW guy only works on BMW's...
