Taiko 08-21-2005, 08:13 AM This was featured on the E30 forum, but I thought it get more appreciation here. Gorgeous car, the only way to put it.B6 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-3-Series-ALPINA-1979-BMW-RARE-FACTORY-ALPINA-B6-2-8-HANS-STUCK-SIGNED_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6007QQitemZ45685 12870QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW)
blitzed310 08-21-2005, 02:07 PM The nicest B6 I have seen on ebay or for sale in that case. I hope it takes big money.
Al Canuck 08-21-2005, 02:20 PM Beautiful car, yup. Only issues I can see is bent trim under the passenger rear window, and mismatched seats. Driver is a Scheel seat, passenger is a Recaro. Hope it gets big money though!

Any car signed personally by Hans Struck is got to be an extra special car.
I like the color (ibscrott - I have a thing for e21s with this unique color :D ) , the condition and all aspects of the car. Its defiantely a keeper. My bet is it goes for a lot.
I dont like the Alpina designation glued on the back of the rear deck spoiler.
Mismatched seats I dont get either. But aside from this, Its awesome.
320ipyro 08-21-2005, 03:25 PM Drool!!!
blitzed310 08-21-2005, 03:55 PM Are those mirrors really electric? I dont think they made those in electric, if so that is a very compact servo hidden in the case.
[/edit] Nevermind those are not the same stock chromies that came on my car, they are indeed electric.
Taiko 08-21-2005, 04:22 PM I never noticed that about the seats. The headlamps on the car have an yellow tint, is that the bulbs or is it a special type of headlamp?
320ipyro 08-21-2005, 04:29 PM theyre the headlamps...u can buy plastic static sticker type covers from places like bav auto parts.
djminkin 08-21-2005, 07:10 PM It is true the car has two different seats, and the engine was recently rebuilt, but using all alpina parts. Last I spoke to him he was going to put in a dogleg close ratio box. I was going to buy this car, but the rebuild got too costly and he wants somewhere in the low 20's. Probably worth it to a collector, but the right person has to come along to pay that kind of money. Beauty nonetheless, not too many of these cars left in this type of condition. Good luck Chris!!

Nope, those are yellow bulbs.
Jmabarone 08-21-2005, 10:18 PM the lamps you are thinking of are the french kind, gonna get a set for my low beams once I get some money flowing.

Yeah, like I can't unscrew the visor, instrument cluster, dash, seats, ect off of my 323i and bring it to whatever driving event Hans happens to be at that day and get it signed by him...
In other words he signed a part, not a car.
fgraziano 08-22-2005, 02:30 PM A lot of people "can" do a lot of things, the question is... Did you?

Ok. I asked the seller who did the engine work, how Hans signed the car,
and why the mismatched seats. Here are the answers:
"...Casey Motorsports in Petaluma performed the work;
Hans signed the car at The American Le Mans (Infineon Race way);
Drivers seat comes from the second series B6, which
started after the first 324 were built and ended with 533.
Alpina realized the Scheel seat was a more secure/
confortable seat, and therefore used them on the last 209
cars produced...Regards, Chris"
1979BMW 08-24-2005, 11:23 PM Bidding is at $20,000.
