View Full Version : Kills... SRT4, Civic Hatch, Stock Accord, Acura TL

The list of kills since Monday:

On my way home from picking up the Z3 I was sitting in the fast lane cruising 80mph when an Acura TL changed lanes behind me and started to tail gate me - there was traffic ahead, so I went to change lanes to the right in order to get in front of it - I started to do so, leaving it in 5th, when the TL switched 2 lanes over in order to pass me as well - I downshifted to 4th, gave it some gas, and easily prevented this, changing lanes in front of the traffic in the fast lane. I then settled back down to 80mph and put cruise on, leaving an opening for the Acura - the TL instead went behind me again, and got to within 1 CL tailgating me. I changed lanes, he followed, so I changed lanes again back to the fast lane and slowed down along side him - I held up 3 fingers, he nodded, and he proceeded to honk - I down shifted to 3rd gear in order to build up full boost, and (despite him going a bit early) pulled massive bus lengths on him as soon as he hit his horn the third time, taking it up to 120mph before I shut it down - he drove past after this and refused to acknowledge me.

The stock Accord was on a local street (Alicia pkwy) where at the other side of the intersection the right hand lane merges over - I was in the lane directly to the left of this lane, and saw the Accord inching up and checking the stop light. When it went green he completly launched the Accord, and I heard some tire squeel - I decided to have some fun, so I gave the Z3 some gas and easily out-paced him, without even going into boost that much (maybe 1-2 psi) - good fun.

The Civic hatch was on Cabot Road, it was green and appeared to be stripped inside - it was also revving with a very high pitch (not like a typical ricer, closer to a sports bike) - I was driving through some traffic, working my way to the front, and it was following behind me - once I got into some clear road I punched it, and apparently this caused the civic to take interest - he got along side me at the stop light, but refused to look over. Once the light turned green he launched it, and I drove away normally - he immediatly slowed down, and it sounded like he was driving in a low gear when we came along side, at approx 25mph (the engine whine was VERY high) - I was in first as well, at around 3750rpm, when I floored it and started to build boost - he also floored it, but I was easily pulling on him - we took it up to about 80mph, and the Z3 had ~5 CL's. Not sure what was in the Civic, but it sounded 'interesting'. Oddly enough there was a second civic hatch I saw that day, that was grey/silver, on Oso Pkwy with a similarly good sounding engine - we didn't race, but played around a bit, and he complimented me on my Z3.

The SRT/4 was a straight freeway pull, on the way home from a bf.c meet on the I-405 South, I was driving ~90mph in the fast lane when I came up on the SRT/4 - It was black, looked stock on the outside, and was being driven by some Asian teenager. I went to the next lane over, rev'ing kind of high, and caught his attention (the Z3 can be very loud when you want it to be) - I heard him downshift, then he started to give his car gas - I did the same, and started to pull on him. We started at around 70mph, and took it up to around 110mph - at the end I had about 3 solid CL's on him leaving it in 4th. He went behind me after I shut it down, and got right on my rear bumper, so I again downshifted and changed lanes to get around some traffic - he followed, but I was pulling easily from him - I changed lanes to the right, and slowed down, getting behind him this time. After closing up to his rear bumper I heard him downshift again, with clear road ahead, and floor his neon - he got about 1-2 CL's of jump, but then I downshifted to 3rd going 80mph and floored it, letting the engine go to redline and build max boost - I started gaining scary fast on the neon, changed lanes to the right to get around him as I upshifted to 4th, and shut it down at around 130mph with approx 5 CL's (and gaining).

80 lbs injectors? Huh... isn't it a bit high? because many SC'ed cars run 24 or 26 lbs injectors... unless I'm mistaken?

for a second there I thought you were talking about your Dakar M3 then I saw you had the Stage II Z3, damn that must be sweet!

There is only 15k on the block, and the car was custom dyno tuned - it *seems* to be holding up rather well, but (of course) miles & rev's are the test. The car is running only 8.5psi of boost, and it is a vortech unit (so it is only seeing those levels of boost for short periods).
