i was on the freeway on my way to my brothers house and i had been trying to find someone to race since it had been a while since i had driven my car and outa my rearview i see a little blue car weaving in and out of traffic cant tell what it is yet just that he is trying to show off, so i wait driving the same speed i was doing bout 75 or 80 roughly, but then he comes up be hind me and takes off around me so i wait for him to get a little bit in front of me and i dart over drop it to 3rd and take off, so i come up behind him and he's gota little wing and an exaust no biggie dunno what he's got under the hood but it doesnt seem like much fr te way he was driving BUT idk for sure, we are running about 100-120 speeding up and slowing down for the people that cant drive and will pull out in front of you, so he goes right around this tractor trailer and i go left and when i pass the truck he pops our right at my rear bumper or so, so from there on we push it, we are running side by side pretty much he's a lil bit bak on me soo as soon as i hit 5th he looks over at me doesnt do anything or no hand gestures or anything and he baks off, so he comes up again later like 15 minutes or so later and he takes off again so i go after him and once again he starts to fall back and then eventually he just stops and pulls into a lane and he was gone, but i though eclipses were kinda quick, guess not that quick,

Which is it? #1 huh? 1.8 or 1.9 liter engine. # 2 is the 6 cylinder (2.5 or 2.8) BMW never made a 2.5 4 cyl., to my recollection.

So whatever you say or think, if it looks like #1, you don't have a 2.5. End of story.

It sounds like you have the M42 motor like me. Take a picture of your car and where your engine says "2.5" and we'll be able to determine what car you actually drive, if you drive yet.

Well when i posted the pics, he said it looks like the first one (an M42 motor) but he said it had 2.5 on it. Im pretty sure hes just mistaken and reading something thats has nothgin to do with the engine itself.

I still want to see pictures though.. :shifty

He just have to lift up the spark plug cover and count how many plugs are there.

you dont need to do that, you can see from the top of the engine how many cyclinders there are

Also, I didn't expect 1.8liter could have a "smooth" pull from 100-120.
