205 is the widest I have seen. Although its hard to track down a 13" performance tire

Uhhh, that 16" tire won't fit very well... :confused

The only high-perf 13" tire I could find was Sumitomo HTR 200s from tirerack.com for $39 each.

I wanted the 205/60/13s, but they didn't have any in stock. Instead I got the 195/60/13s, and they're already here and on the car. I wish I could tell you how wellt hey perform, but I'd have to go outside and push it at a good cornering speed.
I should be able to get the head back on by this weekend and let you know how the tires feel.

To see how different tire sizes compare, use this calculator:
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
They use it for miatas, but I can't see how it'd make a difference.
At first I thought the 195/60 wouldn't be as good as the 205/60, but then the calculator helped show me that the 195/60 has a 1 inch smaller diameter. I love autocross and wanted the smaller gear ratio, and also the benefit of 1/2" lower center of gravity.

Oh, and the only other decent 13" street tires I could find are from Cooper in 205/60, 195/60, etc. I didn't want to trust the 'performance' of high-perf Cooper tires (I'm very picky on tires). The reviews at TireRack looked favorable for the Sumitomos, so I went with them.

what offset and width? a 205 will not fit if you are using wheels for a e21.
