A college buddy of mine just moved over to DC from San Jose. He's got a beater VW and a Nissan 350 Z. Anyway, he's staying with his GF right now in DC while he is shopping around for a house. Of course there is very little parking in DC, so the Z is at his work in Germantown and he commutes with the Passat.

He's looking for a place to store his car. He's not sure how safe a self-storage place is, and is wondering if anyone has a garage spot or even driveway spot in a quiet neighborhood he can keep the car. Not sure what he'd be willing to pay, but looking to see if anything is even available. Would be for about 2 months until he can find and close on a place.

My parents would prolly be cool with it, but their place is hella far - in Stafford. Something on the beltway would be best. I don't understand what it is with retirees and moving to the country... :confused

his gf's place is on the north end of connecticut ave. the car is chillin in germantown.

he's looking for as soon as possible until he buys/closes on a place... like maybe 2 months.

Public storage in Germantown would run $325/month. The place is alarmed.
Generally public storage is expensive anywhere in the MAR.

I "could" help out your friend; but, not sure if I can do "two" months. I can apply for a "one" month pass and your friend can park in the street in Cameron Station (very safe -- patroled -- basically, a snobbish enclosed area). However, I cannot get a two month pass ... it "might" be possible for me to renew his pass for him ...

Alternatively, I have another way -- and we could discuss it ... if he would like. I am located off duke street and 395 in cameron station.
