This isn't a kill story....let's think of it as a possible prelude to one. My buddy recently picked up an '02 CLK430 coupe and he's convinced he can take an E36 M3 from a standstill. I think not.

The only thing hindering me from showing him firsthand is that mine is in Miami and his 430 is in DC. Has anyone with a stock E36 faced a CLK430? And if so, what was the outcome? Thanks.

Not sure on this one but here are some specs:

CLK 430 coupe
HP: 275
TQ: 295
Weight: 3365

Should be fairly close, he is 200 pounds heavier but has a crap load more tq.

TYou'll squash him!But don't miss shift going into 2nd! My buddy has a red 99CLK 430 and discipline was in order.I got him real good with my basically stck blue M3.All it has is the garbage Dinan SW. On the hwy though it's a different story in a roll and over 100mph stck vs stck.Pretty close at first but then the 430 starts to pull away.

Now this is all facts/experience and not biased opinions which I'm sure you'll get after my post!

By the way as you can see I own a AMG but it's a 5.5L beast now and I love it! :evil2 It's my 2nd fastest 1/4 mile car and hwy car!Gives my Schrick cammed and Conforti chipped M332i a run for the $$ off the line and starts pulling away from it once the M332i starts getting to the top of 3rd gear.
