After work today I stopped by my local BMW dealership, Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas for you locals, to pick up some of the clips that hold on my side moldings. After I picked them up I installed them on my car in the dealer lot.

As I was pulling out of the dealership I saw a row of BMWs coming down the single lane road, a Mystic Blue Metallic E64 645Ci, followed by a Black E46 330Ci, the next car was a Titanium Silver Metallic E64 but this one sounded meaner than the Blue one as it roared past me. I immediately noticed quad exhaust tips, and no badging except for the roundels. I quickly checked to my left and turned right to pursue.

As I was catching up to the beast, the traffic light turned yellow just before the first E64 was passing. I sighed as I wasn't going to make it with the gaps between the four of us. Much to my dismay the M6 mashed its brakes, stopping just behind the white line. I had the biggest grin on my face :evil2. I continued to admire the beautiful ass, and noticed dealer plates. A more aggressive rear bumper, and beefy tires. Around the edges of the rear bumper seemed to be black electrical tape :confused. I turned down my music, turned off asc and ac, rolled down my windows and blipped the throttle. Waiting…

BRRAAAAEEE was the response.
I grabbed the steering wheel, put the shifter into first, and had both feet ready. Green!

We both rolled slowly until we reached about 3mph and then he mashed it. My foot was down past the floor while manuevering the wheel to make it around a slight S curve, and he was pulling, I hit 7k and pulled my shifter straight back to second with revs climbing and just as we blew by the Mercedes Benz and Volvo dealership, he let off - because of an upcomming red light- being a good 2-3 cls ahead of me. At the light I put my hand out with a thumbs up and he returned it through his driver side window. :buttrock

As the lane changed to two, We were alongside each other, driving speed limit and I noticed the large wheels, with little ///m stickers, an aggressive bumper, and the same driver who was driving the upcoming Z4 M roadster a few nights ago. Lucky Bastard.

We continued along until we parted at the Valley Circle and Mulholland Intersection.

My car is a 98 with the following:
AA Chip with 7,200 rpm
AA intake
AA Gen 3 Exhaust
UUC M5/ 8.5lb fly combo
X brace
Understeer SSK
JTD front strut bar
Rear seats removed (because of audio install)
2 amps and 2 woofers in the trunk (around 90lbs total)

nicely done....I bet he didn´t pass 5500rpm, since you shouldn´t do that with any new ///M car.

They are there already, maybe not in the US. They have one at the local dealer over here and I've seen them run on the ring.

507 HP V10, he probably didn't even use the 507 Hp program, otherwise he would run circles around you :D it does 0-124 MPH in 12,8 sec. I would be like you are standing still in a M3 :D

I'm pretty sure it was being tested, just like the new m5 and z4 m roadster i saw last week. :D

Why can't we get to see things like this around here? I'm so freakin' jealous of this encounter.

Calvin, i know what you're saying.

But yeah, I agree with BA also, he probably just had it at the 400hp program. Which would still spank ya, and also like parham said, he prolly only took to 5500 since it was still new. So given those, definately believeable, and I'm definately jealous. :buttrock

Was this in SD?
This was in the Calabasas area.

For sure he wasn't pushing the car as much as I was, and I will definately bring my camera with me everywhere now.
