My wife needs to go to a meeting in San Luis Obispo on an upcoming Saturday but it only takes a couple of hours. Since it's quite a long drive we figured we'd spend the whole day. Neither one of us has done more than drive through. What's a good way to spend the day there?
Pismo Beach is nice. Downtown is "quaint" but boring unless you enjoy shopping. If you like hiking/biking there's a lot of that. The tri cities/beach area 10 mins south of SLO is where most people spend their time. Avila beach is better though, IMO.

Hehe, good luck finding something exciting. As a previous resident of the city I'd say visit downtown, maybe hit up the beach cities, the Madonna Inn is kinda interesting, thats about it. It's a nice town to just relax and take it easy...
