Red Rocket 06-20-2008, 03:25 PM The chick is frail man, do they have a Popeye's in San Diego so the poor girl can eat? Maybe we could all chip in on a bucket of fried, shes looking a bit emancipated.
You must mean emaciated. Nevertheless, she is skinny

JJRoloff2002 08-11-2008, 04:22 AM hi guys. Well i have a 1971 bmw 2002 and am restoring it; but being new to bmw restoration im starting to need some help and thought what better place to go than a forum. what engine would you guys suggest i drop in. im thinkin on a e30 m3.... is this a good idea? let me know what you think.
P.S. and if this isn't the spot where im supposed to ask questions then just let me know.
thanks alot,
Jeremy James
tommozza 08-11-2008, 06:07 AM This is the Photo Galery so post up some pics and your back on topic ;)
As you've asked the question already, head on over to www.bmw2002faq.com and search "S14" or "S14 swap" or "S14 conversion". Any string like that should set you on the right path. The S14 swap is very popular.

bmw1602.com 09-18-2008, 12:15 PM Wow, the little 2002 leads a heap of modern super powerful rally cars including Frank Sprongls 600+ monster audi.
With only 25-seconds separating the top six competitors after the third leg of Targa Newfoundland, the pressure to hit target times is starting to build. Roy Hopkins and Adrienne Hughes in their 1969 BMW 2002 have maintained their overall lead through the third day of competition, accruing just 0:03 seconds in penalties. Bill Arnold and Alan Ryall in a modified 1972 BMW Bavaria are close behind at 0:06 seconds. Andrew Comrie-Picard and Jen Horsey in the brand new Mitsubishi EVO X are hoping to bust the myth that modern cars can't win this event. They are keeping themselves in the thick of the fight, with only 0:09 seconds in penalties, and two very long days remaining. In Grand Touring class, Alan Kearley and Greg Martin are maintaining a perfect "zero" score to keep a four second lead over second place.

The fire-breathing Audi Quattro piloted by Frank Sprongl is sitting in sixth. Sprongl came through the final Gander in-town stage at maximum attack, much to the spectator's awe and amazement. He managed to pass an EVO 9 in the tight subdivision, and crossed the finish with glowing brakes and flames licking out of the exhaust. As you can see in the photo below and his four-foot cut onto someone's lawn, Frank is not letting the age or history of the car get in the way of driving the snot out of it!

http://s94994139.onlinehome.us/gallery/Schwienenwagen More here. Mike says your car is a BEAST! I already know it's beautiful.
m2002 01-04-2009, 09:55 PM Thanks Andy. I met Mike and Robbie for breakfast after the holidays and I was the only one who didn't own one of your former cars. Probably should have bought the cab! Love the wagon. Tim
2many02s 01-04-2009, 10:56 PM Hey Tim, Mike said it was faster than my old one by a long shot! I'm going to try to get to VaV to check out your car. The green M2 was very nice, but this one is poster quality.
The engine in the wagon is out of a 95 M3. I had to compete, he he!

The engine in the wagon is out of a 95 M3. I had to compete, he he!That should be a rocket. The agave M2 was certainly better cosmetically. The polaris car is better engineered (and much quicker). It is, however, about 90% race car and drives like one (which is to say if I run over a cigarette, I can tell you the brand). I am thinking about driving it to Mid-America (will need earplugs and aspirin), but it depends on work.
2many02s 01-05-2009, 11:16 AM If that's the case, trailer it! The roads Bo picks out would make it worthwhile.
m2002 01-05-2009, 12:48 PM Andy, That is a good idea. I don't have a trailer, but have always wanted one. Might be a good drive in the X5. Tim

I harbour a huge amount of respect for what it took to build the touring and a huge amount of envy that the yellow car is not in my driveway. Just brilliant.
rns7602 01-07-2009, 07:23 PM Pictures of my 76. Recently changed over to a Kamei air dam and CJ's Alpina Replicas. Car was originally Chamonix. When I purchased the car it was painted Schwarz, it now appears as white with a light silver flake, which looks very close to Chamonix but with a little kick. Last photo is the only back shot I have at the moment, hey two for one.

For those that do not know, I bought the shell for the yellow little car from Andy a few years ago.

Andy has owned half the existing '02's in the US. Heck, even I own one, and I live halfway across the pond!
