There isnt much of a story to this one...

I was headed out to a midnight wal-mart run with my s/o. 3 lane road with zero traffic (it was late). I see aftermarket halo lights coming up quickly in my rear view, so I go slow and wait to see what we've got.

It ended up being 2 black 330ci's, modded VERY similarly. Halo head lamps (no low beams on, just using the fogs), VALVE CAP LIGHTS!!, big chrome rims, etc. They both seemed to be interested in the ghetto cosmetic mods, with zero performance goods. The gf and I couldnt believe these two cars were nearly identical cosmetically.

We stop at a light...they were eyeing me, so I'm surprised they didnt pound it off the line...neither did I. We get to a 20 mph roll, and I decide to juice it ever so slightly to see if these ghetto riders want to play. Sure enough, as SOON as they heard my exhaust get slightly loud, they both hit it at the same time. As a result, they both get the jump, but fear not ladies and gentlemen, I overtook them extremely quickly.

I was in 2nd gear (way below my power band) when I blipped the throttle (at approx 3000 rpms, full boost at 3800). By the time I was half way through 3rd, they were a very good distance behiind me.

Classic line out my g/fs mouth while I was at the top of 3rd, "why are they so far behind?". Before she could finish that sentence, I shut everything down and I was pleasantly greeted by the famous ricer fly-by.

Gosh, those lights on the wheels...they deserved the kill.

mmart, thank you for spanking our outkast cousins. Jesus. valve stem caps? I'm surprised they didn't have washer nozzle lights. Jesus christmas. That is horrible. I like the gf's line too. ;)

Yeah, what the hell? I cannot stand it when I see these jerks trying to speed around, when all they have is ghetto cosmetic mods-you know underbody neons, etc...
Can you believe there was a guy on M3forum who wanted to put underbody lights on his M3! Well, he got flamed hardcore. Nice win, I'm glad some people are still into more go than show!

ghetto bimmers suck especially when people driving them think they are rap stars. They know nothing about their own cars but []D [] []V[] []D in them... they make such fools of themselves though, its great!

They gave a rapper fly by. not a ricer fly by. Don't hate too much Ive seen some ghetto bimmers look really good not all people want the sporty euroracer look. The valve stem caps thats really cheesy. Good Double Homicide. Whats done to your A4?

I LOVE the A4. I havent owned a car that I've enjoyed so much. Granted it took an arse load of mods to get it to my level, but I'm addicted never the less.

Mine is a 2000, never had any major problems.

putting neons on fine german sports cars is like putting 13" daytons on a phantom or maybach. lol

Retail on APR's stage 3 kit is $4500. This takes the stock car from 170hp (or 150hp depending on the year) to 280hp at the crank (figure maybe 220awhp). Race fuel programming is another option...I don't know the power for that or if mmart has that on his a4. This kit makes for a low 13second even high 12second car in the right hands. The peak power number belies the sweet fat nature of the powerband and torque delivery, and hard pulling to redline.

You can make as much or more power for less than APR's gear, but when it comes down to it, APR's stuff is the best engineered out there. A lot of the expense of this kit is their beautiful investment cast inconel exhuast manifold, and tuning a reliable kit. APR uses very competent engineers rather than some hacks to throw together something that "should" work.

If you can't tell I'm a fan of APR. :D

Figure another 500-1k for the full exhuast.

Figure another 500-1k for a quality FMIC (if he has one, stock SMIC may be adequate for his needs)

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled bmw programming :stickoutt

Since you are doing the math...

I wish I was at 7 g's. If I could only turn back the hands of time...

PS - I dynod at 255 at the wheels.

mmart, do you know the crank hp. I know the B6's lose about 20% thru the drivetrain, just wondering about the B5's.

i'd be willing to bet its within 1-2% above or below of that.

b5 and b6 are usually between 20-28% depending on who you ask and what dyno you are on. The b7s MIGHT end up being different due to the 4:1.

Now that the B6 has grown on you, start looking at the B7 because thats the current model. The large mouthed bass looking thing.
