This is sort of kill but not. I was heading home after work, driving the usual street. Cruising and enjoying all the chicken heads that were out on that Friday night. I pull to a redlight and started to switch my CD's. I looked up as the light turn green and spotted a silver E46 M3, to my left ahead of me. So I pace up to him, BUT, I noticed that it didnt have the dual exhaust and wide body, I just noticed the badge at quick glance. So I chased right up to his door, his passenger without recognizing my car, yelled out "You dont want to race a BMW." Whoa!, those are fighting words to me. So I downshifted and he pushed his WOT, and I pulled on him real easy and paced him so he can see my badge. I later pulled many car lengths as he shut his car off. I wait for them to catch up so I can tell the passenger, that m3 is the slowest E46 M3 ever. LOL. I believe it might have been a 325, I'm not sure if it's 330. As 330 can give me a good race, like this blonde in a black 330 vert, the other day. Can anyone give light on a 330?..I know on paper they have 220 hp as to m3 with 240 on paper.

330ci's should lose no problem (given equal drivers). the zhp should lose also, but it is really a drivers race. The zhp has shorter gearing (3.07 from 2.93 I think) and 10 more hp. If you spanked that guy, it was most likely a 323 or 325. Even a 328 would've put up a bit of a fight.

But good job on exposing the phony.

My 330i ZHP dynoed 208/207 stock just 2HP more than my S2000. That being said, engine HP should be close to that of 1995 E36 M3 or just a bit more. Then again, M3 has higher diff ratio and can easily be modded than ZHP. So, ZHP vs. E36 M3 is more of a driver race. Regular 330i moded can also give ZHP and E36 M3 a run for the money but stock vs. stock you should take him no prob.
