View Full Version : Diagnostic pick up point in engine bay

I have two of these points in my engine bay with little orange caps on them to keep out dirt, moisture,etc.

Haynes also arrived today and it shows them in the wiring diagram for autos, Ti's and Tii's - not in the earlier 02 years nor the smaller capacity engines - 1602, etc.

What did these points measure/diagnose and was the equipment that did the assessment handheld or big workshop analyser?

Would be fun to connect up to one to see what it shows?

The only thing I can think of is emissions. That would explain why its only on the later models. Is it connected to that blue wiring harness on the top of the fire wall?

Got one from Glenn too... use it mostly for bumping the starter to look for TDC..

Thanks guys for the answers - the little hand held units look pretty hokey, but I like the workshop unit in the pic Keith supplied - we all gotta get ourselves one of those!
