I am new to the site and need your help. I am 21 with a perfect driving record and i can't get insurance on an M3 even if i go through my parents. This is starting to piss me off because i got a new job and want to buy my dream car and now can't because of this. If anyone knows of a insurance co. who will insure me through my parents and won't rape me to badly, please inform.

thanks so much, happy to be part of the forum

Well do you have $10,000 cash. If so you could turn it into a Cash Bond that cannot be touched and that would constitute legal "insurance". Otherwise bend over

I got my M3 when I was 22 and I didnt have any trouble getting insurance. Getting it for a decent rate on the other hand, impossible. Try GEICO or Progressive. I had GEICO for a while and then switched to Progressive.

Need to shop around first by yourself and then with your parents. If you know or have a very good relationship with a local insurance agent they may be able to help you out. I am currently 22 and have had a few highlines. I am currently paying 102 / month with full coverage and 100 / 300. My VW costs more then the M3 to insure...go figure!

Im with Progressive. I switched from State Farm who basically said that they dont want my business. ($5250/yr) Progressive is less than half of that. On the other hand Progressive charged me $2100/yr for my 1996 Miata. Thats BS. I just sold the Miata insted of mess with that. $2100/yr is almost what the car is worth and I did not have colission.

I'm 22 have an M3, insurance is $140/month for full coverage through Progressive. It's 150 through Liberty Mutual. I've had plenty of tickets, but none of them are on my record. :D

I could do that. How would one go about setting that up. So there would be no monthly anything just a hunk of cash sitting there incase shit happens?

Damn, I need to move...I am 23, and paid 3400/year through geico. Now that I have a Jeep, my insurance is only 3800 for both. You might not get screwed, just keep getting quotes.

When I first got insurance with GEICO, I was getting robbed. I was paying around 400+ a month. But I also had a good amount of tickets and other things on my record. But switching to Progressive, I saved about $150-200 instantly with better coverage. I recommend giving Progressive a try.

Thats what they quoted me.
Last ticket comes off my record this august :devillook
I've had many since but tried all of them and gotten them dropped/discharged. It also depends slightly on your credit rating.

Wow, the rates you guys are posting are crazy low, especially since you're under 25, that's dirt cheap.

maybe try to find "extended" good student discounts. (I hope you're a good student :) )

With a transcript of my last term grades and copies of my diplomas, State Farm gave me this discount until I turned 25. It basically amounts to getting rates as if you're 25 years old.

(Instead of $2800 it was $1950, then went lower from there each year)

If you go to the Fidelty Mutual website they have a good video explaining car insurance. First try putting your deductables at 1k. Take me for example it's a $40/month difference between $500 and $1000. IF I don't wreck in one year (which I haven't) I've already saved $480 which is about the difference I would pay for nothing anyway. Unless your on a lease don't get 100/300k as your insuraning someone else for more then yourself.

You really want to mortgage your future and your future earnings and income just to drive an M3?
You're taking a very big risk, especially in this day and age. What if you kill someone or cause $100K in damages?

It's your life...

Dam, I need to get in your guys business. I am 26 and just bought an E36 M3, no way could I afford an E46 M3. You are lucky fellows to be able to have those cars at your age. As far as Insurance try Country Mutual Insurance out of IL. For our Grand Cherokee and the M3 it is $150 a month. I moved to them from progressive and saved about $400 every six months.

All these quotes means two things, jack and sh*t, and jack just left town.

Your insurance rate is HIGHLY dependent on your location. You can insure a Bentley for $50 a mo. if you live in Montana. You can't insure a f**kin' Kia for less than $100/mo in New York or L.A.
