For Small Item things Such as this spoiler which Weights only a Pound. It may be Very long about 46 inches wide by about 2 inches but its only an Inch high so i just ship them in what hads up to a Giant cardboard envelope.

Gives it protection even though it doesnt need much.

it depends... I would think. I have OEM lip on my E36 which the OEM lip spoilers are not made for. They are for the E46 M3 and E39 M5. I have the M5 lip on my 2 door E36 and it hangs over a little bit, The E46 M3 lip would have been a bit short.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the E46 M3 lip fit the E36 coupe better and E39 M5 lip fit the E36 sedan better. I've never tried an E46 M3 lip but I did have the M5 Lip on my old E36 325i and it fit perfectly.

The correct fit is as was posted earlier - the M5 spoiler should be used on the E36 sedans and the E46 M3 spoiler on the E36 coupes.

Although, I have an M5 on my Coupe. I liked the look of it hanging over a bit. Not sure if Id recommend it though... I think it has knicked the paint a little from closing the trunk over and over.

Damn, I just ordered one from the other company yesterday (the only reason I regret it is because you're offering a prepainting service that I would have used because of how expensive the local shops are to paint the thing).

EDIT: Would you be able to match Biarritz Blue (color 363)? Will your friend be using the plastic adhesion promoter you mentioned? I'm tempted to cancel my other order if you guys do a good job painting it (we have incompetent body shops in the area, and expensive on top of that).

Hey Steve, quick question (this should be helpful towards everyone).

How should we prep the contact area where the spoiler is mounted? Obviously it should be clean, but should we try to remove the wax at the edge of the trunk so the adhesive has direct contact with the paint?

You need to remove All the wax. Use Goo gone or any pretoluim based wax remover.

For added security i would wet sand just the Contact area with 1000 grit paper. This will help smooth out any imperfections that may have gotten there over time.

Dont worry about damaging the paint 1000 Gritt if you ever decide to take the spoiler off will buff right out..

Make sure the Trunk is Perfectly Clean and Dry

Prep instructions sound similar to Steve's. BMW recommend using spirit and a clean cloth to clean the area.

VERY IMPORTANT FOR PREPAINTED SPOILERS. PLEASE DO NOT WAX OR USE POLISH ON THESE FOR A MONTH. the paint needs time to cure. Many people know this but i dont think everyone does. Doing so can damage the paint since polish and wax are pretroluim based as is the paint Doing so can Soften the Paint and leave smudges or cloud the Clear.

Silver and Cosmos Will go out monday.

Boston Green Monday or tuesday. The others tuesday or Weds.

Prepainted Will be offered for the Entire stock

Looking forward to getting mine from Steve. Hopefully, the dimensions are identical to the OEM version. I was at the dealer and test fit an OEM e46 lip on my e36 cab. It fits like it was designed for my car.

Are you all happy with the paint job? I'm not happy with it at all, the spoiler is a deal for $32 shipped, but the paint isn't a very good deal at all. Mine was all gouged up and not glossy what so ever.. going to have to get it repainted professionally. Not trying to knock your product, just an FYI to anyone who wants to get thiers painted.

The paint did match up perfect for me, but yea, it doesn't seem to have enough clear coat on it... not as glossy as I think it should be....Too bad I already stuck it on.

Still not bad at all for $65. I paid $60 just for the paint on my lip for my other car.... and that was a deal.

Do these actually have a basecoat/clearcoat or is it a 1 stage paint? It does seem to be lacking some clear but I'm not complaining at $65. People that want show quality should get it re-cleared though. If it is clear coated, even a buff job might do the trick.

Its 2 stage with Dupont UV clear. 2 wet Coats of clear with 15 min Flash. If you Need it to be Shineyer All you need to Do is Buff it. Like I said further down The Paint needs time to Cure. I hand Buffed Them But not with too much pressure just to be sure i wouldnt damage your Finish. Dont Reclear these Youll Just Build up excessive amount of paint and Risk Chipping

i would say the paint looks alright, perhaps not quite as shiny as the original paint but i will polish and buff it up in about a month.

A word of advice is to buy additional 3M body adhesive to cover the ends of the spoiler. I noticed mine also did not have the adhesive strip all the way across. I can definitely notice that gap at the ends on your car.

yeah i did add a little bit one side but just so it'd be even to the other side...will i damage the clearcoat on the trunk if i take it off now and redo it? it will have been on for like 2 weeks by the time i get my car back (in shop right now). if its ok i will probably take it off, get new tape and apply it end to end

mine doesn't seem to fit the trunk line like the ones pictured. If I bend it open some it will fit like that. Is that ok to do?

Can it be mounted any other way than with the tape? If I'm painting my whole bimmer could I mount it and then paint and clear coat it?

guess I can ask my body/paint guy these questions but figured someone might know.

Mine doesn't follow the curve of the trunk exactly either but I would think its safe to bend. Personally, I'd install the spoiler after paint otherwise the paint where spoiler and trunk meet will look sloppy. Anyways, I've decided to do something else so my lip is up for sale. Since Steve is sold out, is anyone interested that didn't get in on this GB?
