I have searched this forum up and down and don't seem to be able to find quite what I am looking for...

First of all, is there going to be a 2006 M3? BMWUSA.com doesn't list one...

Also, what's a reasonable discount to expect on a 2005 (or 2006, if they exist) M3? A buddy of mine got $1800 off MSRP on a special order car, but it was several months ago. Is it realistic to expect a better deal, being closer to the end of year/winter and all? Also, would it be safe to assume that existing inventory cars have more room on the price tag?

I just talked to my dealer today about my ordered car- he mentioned that he had seen that a 2006 had been on his sheets-
Then he went and looked at the build and determined that it is the current model, but is coming in as a 2006-
So- prolly makin use of all the existing parts- and there will be at least some E46 M3s sold as 2006s.
No info on available options etc :(

There WILL be '06 E46 M's.

I ve just ordered my car through Military program. They are located in Germany. The 06's will still be the same body style but they're gonna change it maybe around fall of 06. I was gonna wait unti I come back from deployment but I didnt wanna take the risk. I dont know what kind o f body styles its gonna have. I dont really like what they did to the new 3, 5, 7 series. Plus, I wanted to pay the cheaper base price. $42,800. :alright
