View Full Version : Morning dew ruin new coat of SG? Ahheck01 08-01-2005, 12:06 PM I'm applying my third and fourth layers of SG in the coming days. That should get off anything that's floating on top of the last layer. Ahheck01 08-01-2005, 12:45 PM Some QD and a microfiber couldn't hurt. Is that a problem? G. P. Burdell 08-01-2005, 12:45 PM Supposedly, SG needs time to cure after each application. It sounds like you're parking your car outdoors overnight - I'd be more concerned about any dust or pollen that settles on the paint than the dew. Regardless, as Laxpunk2006 suggested, quick detailing should take care of anything that's on the surface. Washing and drying the car between coats (if the car is not garaged between coats) would be ideal. MP525i 08-01-2005, 01:36 PM the sg method is a long one, especially if you park your car outside like i do. i would try to wash your car once a week. sunday if you can. add a layer of sg each time you wash it. if at all possible, try to let that sit inside a garage. if you can't find a garage, then do the wash/sg early in the morning so it has the whole day to cure. -mike Ahheck01 08-01-2005, 02:22 PM if at all possible, try to let that sit inside a garage. if you can't find a garage, then do the wash/sg early in the morning so it has the whole day to cure. -mike Thanks mike, that's what I was looking for. Cheers. -Evan Landerholm 08-02-2005, 12:10 AM I really think youre fine SG bonds well enough within like an hour to not be upset by water on its surface. Its just detergants etc that will violate its cure time. |
