Anyone have any advice on getting the forward center console out in a 88 635?

I need to inspect the heater/ A/C doors etc. I think hot air is leaking in, I can only get 70 to 80 F out the front, but I get 58 F in the back.

O.K., this is how it works on an '80 635: !. Remove plate that holds the switches and surrounds shifter. There is a screw at the back of the console that goes into the tunnel. 2. Remove cover plate around radio. You may have to remove radio. There are two screws, one on either side, that go up into the center of the dash. Once you have done this, try to move it, there is one other screw on the left side (I can't remember what it attaches to). If nothing else, remove anything as far as a cover goes and check out screws. That's how I learned.

You've got to start at the rear A/C and cooler panels.

Take those off and work your way forward -

4 screws under the cooler box insert, 2 screws down on the sides at the Drive shaft tunnel, maybe some more.

the e-brake console is next - one screw under the horsehair at the back side of the e-brake slot. I think it'll slide right out then -

center console - I think there are 2 screws at the "front" of the console by the tranny tunnel/footwell area. there's more than likely a screw or 2 under the shifter linkage, maybe one underneath the ashtray.

have you considered that it might be a bad expansion valve or perhaps a bad heater valve?
