The red light on the upper right side of the NAV module just above the phone button is continuosly lit indicating the integrated cell phone is not responding. BMW assist doesn't work since it uses the cell phone. Does anybody know of anything to check before I take in to the dealer for warranty work. :(

Please let me know what you find out on this. I am having the same problem and have been given the run arround and lied to by Harloff BMW of San Diego.

It's a bad Everest Module. It's a silver metal cased module mounted to the side wall below the DVD NAV and CD Changer. It's the cell phone module that transmits the BMW Assist and on my 2005 X5 also is the Bluetooth Module. My dealer didn't have one in stock so they ordered it. When it arrives they said they need to program it and then install it. Removal and reinstallation is quite simple but I don't know about the programming.
