Purchased the car about a month ago. Now feel like I want to get the 330 instead. How much of a hit do you think I would take on a trade in? Major problem is the car was in an accident a few weeks ago and is being repaired right now at a certified BMW repair shop (approx. 8k worth of damage). How much weight will they put on the accident if I try and trade it in now?

I am not an expert and can not give you an exact price, but even if the car was not in an accident, you will have to take a big hit b/c of the off the lot depreciation of the car. Now that is will be classified as used, they will not be able to sell it near the new e90's and we all know they want some profit in there as well.

Good luck though.

PS: i would just keep it a year (or 2) and then trade it in.

not sure of the value but why are you looking to get rid of it so soon?

I think without your accident, you would have lost $6-8k (my friends sold their bimmers within 4 months and they got those figures). With your accident of $8k of damage, you'll be looking at probably half of your value gone because with that extensive damage, your cage may not be straight. There may be issues that the potential buyer may not want to have (unless they have a really tight budget). I'm guessing that if you go back to the same dealership and negotiate well, you can probably get $22-25 for your car and pay for the difference to the 330. Good luck
