Hi guys,
I am new to this forum, picked up my used Z4 3.0 on Friday and loving every minute, hard to keep me out of it :)

I wish to sort something out for my mountain bike. I can fit it in the boot, but it means removing both wheels, seat and the bars from the stem to a bit of a pain in the a$$.
I looked at the hitch solution which is ideal, however being in the UK it's of know use, the won't even provide a kit to have someone here weld it onto the car.
My two solutions are: (in both solutions the bike will be mounted horizontally on the trunk rather than sitting up.
Use the officeal BMW trunk (boot) rails and luggage rack and have it adapted to take a bike. Will it take a 12kg bike with the wheels in the trunk. I have converns with this solution because of the weight.

Or use this solution which looks more appropriate, again would need adapting for a bike, anyone got one? if so I would like to know if it's suitable for installing and removing it regularly.

I am heading into the city tomorrow to see if anyone will do a custom tow bar job.
Look forward to your response(s) :)
Graeme
