Zerrus 07-25-2005, 11:21 PM wash clay wash polish klasse S100/S21 rooster 07-25-2005, 11:35 PM where do i get the foam pads etc and what else do i need =thx !!! bmwpwr 07-25-2005, 11:38 PM alrught dude, first you need pads, ide go with foam if i were you. Go to Topoftheline.com and buy the lake country 6.5 inch pads. You only realy need an orange cutting pad and a white polishing pad. (the black on if a waist of time for waxing and glazing) do all that by hand. once you have those take one down to a local fabric store with the screw in backing plate that came with your buffer and buy some heavy duty sticky back velcro that will mate to the pads and adhears very well to your screw in backing plate. Now i just use 3M polishes and then wax, im not familiar with Klasse All in One. Assuming it is a polish just use it with your orange pad working in 1.5 to 1.5 for sections, take your time there will be a certain knack youl figure out. Pick a reasonable speed yout comfortable with,(1 and 2 are about useless for me). Work in side to side, front to back motions untill your polish is almost non existent and remove the rest with a micro fiber cloth. sry for the long run on but if yo need any advise just PM me. Have Fun :buttrock Steve530 07-26-2005, 12:14 AM Just buy a 5 inch backing plate with the pads. That way there is little chance of the backing plate getting to the paint. The choice of pads and products depends entirely on the condition of the paint. Do you have any paint defects that you're trying to remove, like oxidation or swirlmarks? BTW,plan on buying at least 2 of each pad. Some products load up the pads fast. And ou don't want to mix products on a pad. rooster 07-26-2005, 02:07 AM i have a little green applicator pad?? that came with the klasse and a white foam object that screws on and a contour pad that says for 6 inch hook and loop HELP sorry again i am new to this also is it better to apply the klasse by hand and then remove with polisher or use polisher for applying and removal???thanks for everyones help so far my paint is original so alot of the clearcoat is sort of gone but the surface is very smooth Landerholm 07-26-2005, 02:35 AM Once you start dont be afraid to stay at speed 6....Its virtually impossible to harm the car. bmwpwr 07-26-2005, 03:24 PM I used the 6 inch hook and loop that comes with it, it says no bigger that 6 inch pad on the back but 6 and 1/2 hasnt done a thing to mine. it kiils buying te 40$ hook it pad Steve530 07-26-2005, 05:49 PM I wouldn't use the pad that screws in to the PC on your paint. People have reported that it falls apart and the risk of damage is not worth the cost. You can use the backing pad that comes with the kit with 6.5" pads, but it's not flexible. I'd suggest you use the PC to apply the AIO. It does make a difference. AIO is very easy to remove, so using the PC to remove it is not necessary. Also the AIO will leave a shiny finish behind that will not be improved by buffing. If you plan on using Klasse SG, you can use the PC to apply or remove it. The key to applying SG is to get a very thin uniform layer. I've read that people use the PC with a finishng pad or a MF bonnet to apply the SG because it makes it easy to apply a thin , even layer. Klasse can also be difficult to remove. Some people use a MF bonnet to remove the SG and claim it works well. I can confirm this. I'm not sure that it's worth using a PC to apply or remove SG. IMHO, the trick to using SG is to use a misted pad to apply and wipe it off immediately. Anyway, definitely use the PC to apply the AIO.
