FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Second Place for Turner In Strongest Outing Yet

LIME ROCK PARK, Lakeville, CT - 07/25/2005 - Will Turner scored his first T2 podium in 2005 at Lime Rock Park this past weekend. Behind the wheel of the Toyo Tires/Turner Motorsport BMW M3, Turner sliced through the T2 field from the eighth starting spot to finish in second place.

Turner was not surprised by the result; the small, twisty Lime Rock circuit suits the BMW M3 well and Turner has many years of experience on the 1.5-miler near his hometown of Collinsville, CT. But the consistency of the car was what he praised most.

Will Turner, #92 Toyo Tires/Turner Motorsport BMW M3:
"The key to this race was the durability of the Toyo Proxes RA1 tires on the M3. From start to finish I had the same tires and the same car. Lime Rock is a BMW-friendly track and one of the few places where the car is not out-gunned by the V8 machines from GM and the turbocharged imports. We weren't the outright fastest car in T2 but lap after lap I could push the car and tires and not have to worry about burning them up. Amazing!"

The T2 class is comprised of performance sedans and coupes with only safety add-ons and a bare minimum of performance upgrades allowed. The Toyo M3 has a full roll cage and fire system. The car is mostly stock with a full interior, Borla cat-back exhaust, stock brakes but with racing pads, and stock engine internals. All suspension bushings and bearings must remain standard BMW but the stock shocks were swapped out in favor of a set of H&R adjustable units.

Will Turner is the owner of Turner Motorsport Inc. - a world-renowned BMW specialty tuner shop located in Massachusetts. Turner has been racing BMWs exclusively since 1987 and won the 1996 SCCA ITS Championship in the NYSRRC. From 1998 to 2003 he competed in 58 World Challenge races, finishing in the top 10 an amazing 43 times. Turner is currently competing in the Grand Am Cup ST class in a BMW 330i and is fourth in the overall ST standings.

The SCCA Club Racing T2 Championship will be held at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in September as part of the SCCA Runoffs®. The SCCA Runoffs is the week-long championship for all national classes of SCCA Club Racing and will be televised on The SPEED Channel.

Hey Dave, Im going down to Barber this weekend to help out TMS. I'll try to stop by so I can meet the legend (I'm talkin old school roadfly... I'm "E30M3 david" on there). haha. Luckily it looks like it will only be mid 80s by wed with chances of storms but I'll take that over the 100+ heat index they have today. Good Luck if I dont talk to you before then! :redspot

Hey...hey! Holy smokes, you ARE old skool!!

I ain't no legend, but it'll be great to meet you anyway.

Great news about the weather. I am sure the humidity will be 700%...but mid 80's is better than mid 90's any day.

I look forward to meeting you!
