Jedi801 07-25-2005, 11:29 AM what a rip-off.
Antwerp 07-25-2005, 11:37 AM Ya, it's insane, what Dinan Charges...
FYI, A Labor Unit = 1 Hour
BMW uses approx $80/Labor Unit.
Jedi801 07-25-2005, 11:40 AM especially for a 134 HP increase. I can't believe people are dumb enough to do this.

the ONLY thing they have going for them on this is warranty.
SehrSchnell 07-25-2005, 11:56 AM Well some people I suppose wish not to void their warranty. As I said in Ant's thread about his father's S3 package, if you have the money, do it.
I don't think he is "dumb" for doing it though.
p.s., it's 5 hours (or units) to install everything, then 620 hours to install the Dinan floormats. :D
sirtiger 07-25-2005, 11:59 AM :cashwalle
$3150 for an install that takes 5 hours.
Im changing my name to Makr Dinan, and will intall teh florrmats free.:)
chmdrm 07-25-2005, 01:33 PM It does kind of reach the point cost wise that it is cheaper to not have the warrenty and pay for anything that breaks with the money you saved.

I dunno. M5 engines are damn expensive.
Jedi801 07-25-2005, 01:43 PM not $33,000.
SehrSchnell 07-25-2005, 01:46 PM Once again. If you got it, why not.
Antwerp 07-25-2005, 03:35 PM I love Dinan Threads... There is always so much controversy about their stuff...
...but, people still buy their shit... :dunno
I think some of it, is that Dinan is a Reputable name. It's just like people buying a certain car brand.
They've been around for a long time, they have been making quality goods for many years.
I think People Liek teh Naem...
chasmanbmwfan 07-25-2005, 06:02 PM Let's see if I got this straight. $33,000 for the parts. 625 Labor units to install them. AT $80/hour, the labor alone is $50,000!!!
That brings the total cost of the S3 package to a whopping $83,000 (and that doesn't even include the car). The quote I copied from Dinan was for a 540i, not even an M5.
Figure $35k for a reasonably nice 540 and the total costs comes to $118,000.
The list of sweet cars you can buy for $118k is pretty long, and I'm not sure that a 540i Dinan S3 would be at the top.
Am I missing something here?
12:03 07-25-2005, 06:03 PM chas you can keep your 1000 if you go delete one of your old posts

Ya, that can't be right. I asked my dad about the Labor Units. I think he doesn't know what he's talking about... Last time I ask him.
I'll bet a Labor Units = 15 mins or something.
That would be 156 Hours * $80 = $12,500
Still up there!
Dinan330ic 07-25-2005, 06:12 PM Get the Dinan S2 M5 instead. M5's are cheap now.

Just looked at my fathers bill.
The Labor Units are really goofy.
Steve must have been drinking too much the day he came up with this idea.
Every Labor Unit = 6 Mins.
Basically it's 1/10s.
So, 625 LU = 62.5 Hours = $5,000
Anyway...
chasmanbmwfan 07-26-2005, 12:23 AM So it's only $38,000 with labor. Sign me up.
