First off, let me say I am a detailing ignoramus. Just starting to read all the pros/cons of that/this product, this/that detailing procedure. It can be overwhelming.

I'd like to just rinse off all the dirt this weekend. I don't want to go through the whole detailing process yet, because like I said... Im pretty ignorant to detailing do's and don'ts. The car was waxed not too long ago.

Can anyone recommend something that I could get from say a PepBoys or Autozone?

I'm going to order some good detailing products as soon as I learn a few things.

Thanks guys.

Get a some good car wash. I think a lot of people like Meguiar's Gold Class which should be widely available.

A good wash mitt is nice. I bought a sheepskin mitt from WalMart for $5, but they may not be available there now.

And you want a good towel to dry the car. I like waffleweave microfiber towels for drying. You'll need 2 large towels for that.

You might want to try a Target Store. They recently added a line of detailing supplies that are pretty good and very reasonable.

I sugggest you buy the best materials you can find. They'll last longer and work better. Of course, this is true of detailing supplies and just about everything else. :)

Buy meguiar's. It is the best, most reliable manufacturer I have been able to find locally. Everything of theirs is very good and you don't have to worry about using any of their product like you would with a product like armor-all. I would recommend gold class or nxt car wash, an mf or sheepskin wash mit, 2 meguiars waffle weave microfiber towels, lexol or meguiars leather cleaner and conditioner, and some meg's vinyl treatment.
